A little while ago (I have been so slack with posting) I attended the awesome Online Stamping Retreat by Kylie & Bruno Bertucci, Lisa Curcio and Gina Hawley and had a blast! I have attended every single one of these events and they just keep getting better!
For the last retreat I made one of these fun secret message or ‘hidden panel’ cards with Bruno and I decided to make it using the Mediterranean Blooms suite. I had a blast featuring this gorgeous suite which has quickly become one of my favourites from the Annual Catalogue.

Here is a look at the finished card front. I adore this suite and all the beautiful images – but my favourite is the stunning detailed dies with the stunning foliage! For this card I went to town with the watercolours on this card and really focused on making them have depth and dimension with the varying strengths of colour and detail on my images.

I used a heat embossed sentiment from the Citrus Blooms stamp set to finish the card front.

Here is a look at some of the detail on the finished secret message card. I added lots of dry embossed texture using the Dashing Designs 3D Embossing Folder and extra texture and colour using the Mediterranean Blooms Designer Series Paper. The fun feature of this Designer Series Paper is that it features even more citrus fruit that you can fussy cut out to add extra details to your design.

I have embellished my secret message card with a mixture of the Opal Rounds that coordinate with the Mediterranean Blooms Suite and some of the gorgeous Shiny Sequins.

Here is a look at how this sunning card design folds out to reveal four stunning panels that feature additional texture and colour.

This picture shows the opening of the secret message (or hidden panel) component of the card. I have actually repetitively stamped the oranges from the Citrus Blooms Stamp set here and coloured each (and the whole background) with Stampin’ Blends. To add this to the card I have cut this piece into four sections to add to my hidden panel.

You can see the finished folded out panel here with minimal embellishments and an additional heat embossed sentiment. I have also added some additional Basic White panels on the back where you can add a message or sentiment for the recipient.

This secret message card was so much fun to make and I really had fun being inspired by Bruno’s gorgeous project.
