As you can probably tell I am on a bit of a roll with getting caught up with this album, thank goodness. There is some kind of sense of achievement every time I finish a spread – I am just that little bit closer. I am somewhat working back chronologically because the pages that are more recent I am more likely to remember which means I need to get the older ones done first before I totally forget. I must embarrassingly admit that I only got WEEK 2 finished the other day because I was waiting on photos from my sister to complete that spread all this time since we were in QLD and I really wanted to include the family reunion photos since Elijah was in them.
I really like the colour combo on this spread and it’s one that I have found myself reaching out for quire a lot; blues, yellows and golds! Rather gorgeous I think. Once again a mix of cards; Dear Lizzy, Project Life Kiwi, Crate Paper Notes & Things and even some Studio Calico cards.
Overall pretty happy with how it turned out. I combined a bit of typewritten and handwritten journalling this week for something a little bit different. I loved the mixture and I managed to get a lot of journalling down on the spread which is something I am trying to do a lot more of.
Sorry for the darkness of these close ups it’s been rather crappy weather here lately and so capturing decent photos has been a challenge. This card I believe is from the Dear lizzy Daydreamer card collection. I used a Heidi Swapp stamp and did some hand journalling.
I am struggling to remember which collection this foiled gold card comes from. I want to say Crate Paper Notes & Things so for the sake of having an answer we will go with that. I found that little strip a perfect base for some typewritten journalling. I wrote about how he really looks like a ‘little boy’ in these photos and not a baby. I also was talking about the fact that I think he has my eyes. It’s hard to say because Adam and I both have brown eyes but my eyes have more warmth than Adam’s eyes do which are almost piercingly dark. I love that Elijah has my eyes.
This gorgeous filler card is from the Dear Lizzy Project Life Lucky Charm value kit. I love it. It’s so gorgeous. I have added a gorgeous collation of hearts, sequins, enamel dots and a beautiful blue resin flower. I love how it turned out on this gorgeous kraft base.
The yellow title card is a card from the Crate Paper Notes & Things value kit. I loved the different shades of yellow! I added a yellow flower from the Maggie Holmes Open Book collection, a Silhouette cut, sequins, enamel dots and some gorgeous black heart rub ons from My Minds Eye. The touch of gold in the title was to tie in all the gorgeous gold tones in the spread.
This top card was my weekly journalling card. We spent this week housesitting for one of my friends and Elijah absolutely LOVED her dog. Was able to write a lot about that.
Finally I added some embellishments from the value kit, some stickers from the Notes & Things sticker sheet and the gorgeous blue mason jar is from the Lucky Charm value kit. I know these mason jars have been popular and I have been really bad at using them because I wasn’t sure ‘how’. I teamed it with these gorgeous Maggie Holmes Open Book florals to make them look like they were siting in the jar. I think it turned out cute!
I hope you enjoyed this look at another one of my catch up spreads.
Much love,
