Back again with another catch up post for Elijah’s album. I am getting closer and closer every week to having this album finished and I can’t wait to see the end product and have a boo that shows my son’s first year in close detail. This has been my favourite project since I have started scrapbooking by far! I made a pregnancy album using a 6×8 Snap Simple Stories album when I was pregnant and that comes in at a close second. Finally having someone in my life that is so photogenic (and really has no choice to have his photo taken) gives me so much more to scrapbook about!
I didn’t actually have many photos this week, in fact the photos on this spread are all from the same photoshoot apart from one in the top row of the left hand side which is a photo of all the babies lined up at mothers group. I love this photo because I have such a lovely connection with these ladies and Elijah has made such good friends with the other babies.
I managed to film a process video for this spread. I hope you enjoy it!
And here are the close ups of my finished spread.
I once again used my typewriter for the journalling this week. I think I mentioned it in the video but my typewriter was playing up and created some shadowing underneath so I used to golden arrow from one of the Heidi Swapp value kits to cover this up. I think scrapbooking is all about mistakes and finding creative ways to fix them.
I had this “this happened” sticker in my stash for a long time. It came in a kit and is from the Amy Tan Plus One collection. I really wanted to get it used up as it was the last sticker on the sheet and I hate having those laying around in my stash for too long. I am trying my best not to ‘hoard’ scrapbooking things anymore.
I love this picture of my son. He looks so surprised but so cute at the same time! I used one of those gorgeous ribbon flags from the Maggie Holmes Open Book collection and teamed it with a little collection of embellishments. I love the little fabric brad also from the Open Book collection.
Here’s my title card for the week. I have used one of the Project Life cards from the Plus One mini collection. I love how it sort of ‘frames’ the title. I am not actually sure what collection these thickers are from but they are sort a grey rubber/vinyl.
I used some more bits and pieces from the Maggie Holmes Open Book collection including some of the vellum phrases and a brad. I love the touches of orange.
I made this 4×6 filler card. Originally I thought this would be the base for the weekly title card but it didn’t seem to work so I made it into a filler card instead. I like the touch of machine stitching and to me it somehow makes it feel a little more ‘handmade’
I hope you enjoyed this look at another layout in my Elijah album.
Much love,
