Let’s have a look at todays’ fun project…
Here’s a look at my finished card.
I FELL In love with this huge big owl from the Blackberry Beauty Ephemera Pack and just knew that I wanted to make him the focal point of the card.
I decided to go ‘out of the box’ this month and create a ‘tent standing’ card. I am not sure of the official term of these cards – I will have to do some research, but they are so fun to make! They are quite easy too, you just need a standard card base, score the front exactly in half for a tent fold and add a piece on top, adhering to the bottom scored piece of the tent fold to the exact size of your card front. Easy!!
I used more of the ephemera to create my sentiment piece which when added with Stampin’ Dimensionals also acts as something for my card to ‘stand’ on when it is sitting upright.
Here’s another look at the finished card from another angle.
It’s all about the bling, sparkle and golds on this card! I used another one of my favourite products other than the Blackberry Beauty suite and that is the Be Dazzling Speciality 6×6 paper which is available for FREE when you spend $90 or more in my store as part of Sale-a-Bration during August and September!
I am going to be using this paper loads!
The backdrop of my card is the large die from the coordinating Beautiful Leaves Dies. I have gone for a tone on tone look and cut this from Crumb Cake cardstock and simply layered it over the top.
You will be able to see from some of the close up images that there is also some texture behind this, and this is where I have stamped one of the ‘paint splatter’ stamps from the Beauty of Tomorrow Stamp Set and stamped this in Crumb Cake over my background piece.
Here you can see I have also featured some of the gorgeous Blackberry Beauty 12×12 Designer Series Paper included as part of the suite. This paper is gold foiled and just stunning!
My sentiment is stamped on Basic Black in Versamark Ink and heart embossed in white. I chose to fussy cut around this image and adhere to my card with two layers of Stampin’ Dimensionals to really make it stand out!
You can also see some of the gorgeous embellishments on the card. I used the beautiful Gold 3/8″ Shimmer Ribbon that coordinates with the suite to tie a nice big bow and also embellished with some of the brand new Brushed Metallic Adhesive Backed Dots.
Here’s a look at the card when it’s completed folded down, and as you can see there is still plenty of room left to write a beautiful message to the recipient.
Overall this is such a fun card to make and I can definitely see myself making more!
I hope you got some inspiration and enjoyment out of today’s card share.
