I recently attended the amazing Online Stamping Retreat with the fabulous Kylie & Bruno Bertucci and Lisa Curcio & Gina Hawley. Attending the OSR retreats is always such a fun time!
I learn so many new fun folds and just have a great time. I am looking forward to sharing the projects I made over the next couple of weeks because I learned some really fun folds once again! The project I am sharing today is from the super talented Gina Hawley who taught a fun fold I had never heard of before called a book shelf card! Gina used my favourite bundle and Designer Series Paper from the Mini Catalogue – the Translucent Florals. There is something about the colours and the beautiful translucence about these that I just love.
There is another retreat happening in May and I am so excited! You can see all the details and add you name to the waitlist here.
my finished book shelf card
Here is a look at my finished book shelf card standing up so you can see all the dimension and just how this fold looks. I love that these folds are so inventive and dimensional, yet they fold flat and still go in an envelope! People are so creative! The other super cool thing about this card that I just love is that on the right hand side is it includes a pocket which includes a pocket for a pull out handmade bookmark!!! How cool is that! This card is perfect to give to your book loving friend!
beautiful colours of delightful florals Designer Series Paper
I just love the gorgeous colours in this beautiful collection. It’s so fresh and sweet. The combination of both bright and regal colours is just stunning. I changed my book shelf card from Gina’s original card to include some more pinks in my card because I won’t lie, there is not a lot left in my pack of Designer Series Paper – I have used so much! This pack of Designer Series Paper is actually an Online Exclusive which means it may not last long!
Here is a look at the colour palette.

a close up look of some of the finished detail
Here is a look at the close up detail. This is actually quite a mix and match of different products on this card. I just love the combination and using the beautiful background for the focal point using the die taken from the ‘Chic’ dies. This is die cut from the absolutely stunning Rose Gold Foil.
I have also used the beautiful dies and stamps from the Perennial Postage bundle. I think these have to be my new favourites for sentiments! The combinations of different sayings and those stunning postage style dies are stunning!
I have added some of those cute little flowers cut from the Soft Shimmer paper from Berry Burst embellished with the super cute Pretty Peacock Foiled Gems.
a book shelf card needs a pretty book mark!
It’s a book shelf card and it needs a pretty book mark! This is actually the cutest card to give to a book lover right? I loved that this card includes a little pocket with a slip in bookmark. So cute!!
I made the top of my bookmark with a cute curved top with the Basic Borders Dies. It gave the cutest edge and I realised that I could make a cute little hole with a reinforced hole with the dies from the Perennial Postage dies. So cute! I have added some of the Lemon Lime Twist Ribbon.
do you like to write an essay?
I know that I have a lot to say!! If you are like me and have a lot to say, I have added an extra panel to the back of the card to write some more. This was just something extra I added because I know that I always run out of room.
This card was so much fun to make. I had loads of fun making this book shelf card and I can’t wait to share what else I made at the Online Stamping Retreat. Be sure to hop on and add yourself to the wait list for the next retreat, you won’t want to miss it!
