I have another card to share with you today that I made back at the Online Stamping Retreat from back in February – yes I am still sharing cards and there are more to come! This fun card was one that I made from the fabulous Lisa Curcio’s class and is a Twisted Easel Card. I have never seen a card like this before and it was so much fun to make! I love to make inventive fun folds and that is why I love to attend the Online Stamping Retreat because I always learn new folds to add to my repertoire!
There is another retreat happening in May and I am so excited! You can see all the details and add your name to the waitlist here.
the finished twisted easel card!
Here is a look at my finished twisted easel card. I changed up my design a little from Lisa’s card. Lisa used the Just Kidding Suite to make her card whereas I changed my design to use the Stargazing Designer Series Paper and the gorgeous animals from the Zany Zoo bundle. I just love these gorgeous animals and who could resist that gorgeous turtle and the cheetah?
I varied my design to add some dazzle to my design to really make it sparkle by adding a panel of More Dazzle Shimmer Speciality paper to my centre panel which really set the stage and made it sparkle and shine! This gorgeous speciality paper is honestly one of my favourites from the Annual Catalogue and I would love it to become and staple, a girl can dream!
I loved the bright colours set in with the gorgeous sparkly speciality papers, I am known for loving the brights and I loved using the purples and greens – it really is the cutest combination.

the 3D effect of the twisted easel card…
I loved the effect of the Twisted Easel Card and how it looks when it stands up. When Lisa provided the cutting dimensions at the Online Stamping Retreat I was a bit intimidated at first but it was just a few simple cutting directions and then it was a lot easier than I thought. It looks so gorgeous and folds completely flat! I love fun folds like that!
a close up of the details & embellishments
Here is a close up look at how fun these details are. I kept the embellishing minimal on this card! I added the turtle, cheetah and just a couple of flowers from the Zany Zoo die set which were cut using the beautiful Highland Heather Glimmer Paper and accented with a purple gem.
The sentiment made for a beautiful generic card that I could send to many wonderful people which has been heat embossed in white on some Basic Black cardstock.
a little look at the inside…
Because I decided to use the More Dazzle Specialty Paper for my centre panel on the card front, I had some of the gorgeous Stargazing Designer Series Paper leftover which was a perfect addition to the inside of my card. Accented with a tiny strip of that More Dazzle Specialty Paper it made this inside panel look just as beautiful as the card exterior. I carried through another of those beautiful cheetahs coloured with some Stampin’ Blends and some gorgeous die cut flowers.
This twisted easel card was so much fun to make. I always love learning these new fun folds at the Online Stamping Retreats.
Be sure to put your name down on the waiting list for the next May retreat. I can’t wait and it’s on my calendar already!
Until next time, crafty hugs. x

Hi Leslie,
Thank you so much for your kind comment. I actually made this card at the Online Stamping Retreat where the tutorial was provided by the lovely Lisa Curcio. There is another retreat coming soon and sometimes they open them back up. You can find all the info at http://www.onlinestampingretreat.podia.com – I love the retreats – so much fun.
