Happy World Card Making Day everyone! What a beautiful hobby this is and what magnificent people I have met through my paper crafting journey. Sometimes it is easy to mistake card making as just some paper, scissors and glue but it is so much more! The friendships I have made, the community I have joined and each and every handmade card that has brought a smile to someone’s face through the good times and the hard times or even teaching someone how to card make for the first time & seeing their pure delight and joy! Card making is so much more and I am thrilled to celebrate it.
Today was a big day! First The Stamping Lounge hosted a free World Card Making day class showing off our awesome colour combos and sketches! You can check out the replay here. Then I participated in the fun Stampin’ Up! hosted event to celebrate world card making day and then finished off on my own Facebook making this super fun magical Double Decker Fun Fold card!

Here is a look at the finished card! The bright colours, glitter and overall techniques I got to play with on this card were so much fun!
I showed in the video the template/sampler that I made to show how all the stamps/dies and builder pieces worked and I had a load of fun with that on this card.
I used a mixture of the stamps coloured with Stampin’ Blends and some of the stand alone dies to create this fun magical scene.

The double decker fun fold style is super easy to make as a basic Z fold style with a simple mechanism but sure packs of punch of fun!

You can see some of the details here and how it all came together. I loved adding the fun and bright colours from the 2024-2026 In Colour Glimmer paper to quite a few of the accents. The bright colours in this glimmer is always a winner!

The Flowering Zinnia Designer Series Paper was perfectly bright to mix with this theme and worked well. I played with quite a few techniques on this card including pulling out the Stampin’ Brayer. You can check this out in the tutorial video.

You can see on this final picture just how dimensional this card is as it opens to reveal that 3D panel, so cool!
