I missed seeing everyone on my usual live last week and so was determined to pop on this week (even if it was pre-recorded). The past week I have been so sick and I haven’t felt this worn out and tired from being sick in a long time. It has been good however for catching up on some admin!
I created this week’s card with the idea of doing something other than my favourite fun folds and instead focusing on a card size I often forget about – the slimline card! It’s a great size when you want to elongate a design or create a ‘line’ of pattern or focal images. I wanted to create this fun ‘party’ vibe on a card to celebrate some of my Stampin’ Up! friends who have achieved some awesome things in the last year at Stampin’ Up! and were recognised recently for their achievements. The Stampin’ Up! Round We Go bundle was a perfect set to focus on creating with as these adorable pinwheels both stamped and folded create a fun party/celebration feel.

Here is a look at the finished card. Isn’t it bright and happy?
When I created this week’s project I really mixed and matched a lot of different products which is something that I love to do sometimes because it creates something beyond the expected pairing of products we are used to seeing together. Stampin’ Up! does a great job at creating so many coordinating products, but it is also so easy to bring in products to mix and match together to create even more fun designs!

For this slimline card I not only used the Round We Go Bundle but also brought in some of the gorgeous Online Exclusives like the Drizzling Droplets Background Stamp, Sweetly Scripted Sentiment Set and the Full of Life Dies which I combined with the Sweetly Scripted phrases to create the gorgeous sentiment for this card.

The close ups of this card really show the detail and dimension that these pinwheels that are both stamped and die cut give this card. On this week’s video I also demonstrated how you can cut and change the size of the pinwheels that you create with the accordion pinwheel die that comes with the Round We Go dies. This enabled me to create three sizes of the folded pinwheels on this card.

I love to have a matching inside for my cards and it’s usually so easy by repeating colours and patterns from the card front. To create my inside I softly blended some Lemon Lime Twist and added some stamping in Summer Splash. I repeated one of the pinwheel flowers that were die cut and added all of these elements to my bottom right corner.
