Can you believe we are preparing and thinking of Christmas? It seems insane to think it will be here before we know it and it’s time to start thinking about Christmas card lists. I think I started to feel extra festive in this last week because I got a peek at the upcoming Stampin’ Up! Mini Catalogue that will be released to customers on September 4th. Oh my goodness – so many things to be excited about!
I already had these fun products from the upcoming catalogue that I got early at a recent Stampin’ Up! event and so I wanted to have a dig in and play – because they are so cute!!! This Centre of Attention fun fold was the perfect way to really play with the gorgeous suite colours and those amazing papers!
If you want the directions of how to make this card, scroll to the bottom of this post where there is a free downloadable PDF.
P.s. I get lots of questions every week about things like die storage, organisation supplies and some of the other non Stampin’ Up! products I use. To make it easier I have created a page where I have linked all these supplies and where you can find them. Click here to check it out.
the finished centre of attention fun fold card
There are a couple ways to make this Centre of Attention fun fold card and you can actually make it without the belly band and fold back the centre panel and simply place it in an envelope just as is! I decided for this version that I was going to go all out and make this card all together with a cute belly band. This allowed me to use even more of the stunning Nests of Winter product.
This picture shows the magic of the Centre of Attention style fold and how it sits with quite a lot of dimension and would look amazing on display! I decided to choose a couple of the Nests of Winter Designer Series Paper patterns and combine it with some embossed cardstock using the Birch 3D Embossing Folder and some STUNNING Copper Textured metallic paper.
make it close with an adorable belly band
You can see here how this card all folds together and closes with this belly band design.
I really wanted to feature this gorgeous Designer Series Paper with the branches and that stunning bird. The design looks great when cut as one piece so that it flows across the card front. This is super easy to do; simply cut the height you want and then chop the width and move the paper along to cut another width of Designer Series Paper right beside it. This will give you two pieces of paper that match together.
a close up of the adorable stitching detail
One of my favourite products available in my Stampin’ Up! store are these fabulous Everyday Details Dies. If you don’t have them – you need them! They die cut out a range of circles/rectangles/labels that have awesome stitched detail. It is great for techniques like this where you want to add a bit of stitching detail. I jumped at the idea of doing this when I saw that beautiful coloured Linen Thread that comes as part of the Nests of Winter Suite. Linen Thread is a fave!
a place to write
I always love having somewhere to write and although there isn’t much room on this card – I still had to add somewhere! A small panel on the reverse centre of the card is just enough to add that heartfelt festive greeting. The front of the card is what we really want to have on display.
I had loads of fun making this weeks Centre of Attention fun fold card for my weekly Facebook live and having my first play with some Christmas themed projects. There will be lots more festive projects to come! I hope that you were able to get some inspiration today and I would love to see what you create.
