I was super inspired to create one of these Double Z Pop Up cards this week after seeing a fun card by Sam Calcott from Mixed Up Craft. I was inspired to create something similar using the beautiful heart dies from the Hearts of Elegance Dies mixed with the Sketched Butterflies bundle and Marbled Elegance Suite. There have been a load of new products added to the Online Exclusives section of my online store and you can see a few of them that I added to my card today.

Here is a look at the finished Double Z Pop Up card and how it looks from the front when it’s all folded. I love that these beautiful hearts all layer underneath each other and then pop out to all work so seamlessly to create this beautiful dimensional design.
You can scroll down and see the original Double Z Pop Up Card that I created which featured a lot more of the Designer Series Paper however for this card I decided to tone it down a little and use some embossed panels with Flirty Flamingo and the gorgeous So Swirly Embossing Folder. I much prefer this more subtle approach.

You can see some of the beautiful dimension and detail that this fun fold design has in these pictures. I love the options of layering and also the potential of using different shapes with the same Double Z Pop Up design and how many things you could potentially create!
For this card I loved the idea of combining the new Marbled Elegance Suite with a non Valentines themed card and so I kept it girly and brought in the Sketched Butterflies Bundle as it hadn’t yet seen much love in my craft room. I also experimented with a super easy colouring technique where I heat embossed the butterflies and simply added ink over the top with Blending Brushes! Super quick, easy and effective!

It’s no secret that I love to embellish and ‘add the pretties’ Haha! On this card I didn’t hold back and added a mixture of the Gold Twisted Thread, Brushed Brass Butterflies and some gorgeous bright sequins from the Shiny Sequin Assortment Mix. I loved adding these to add more texture and colours!

Here is a look at another alternative of the Double Z Pop Up Card. I created this one to begin with and focused on using the Marbled Elegance Designer Series Paper. I decided however that it was really intense and wanted to create another using less of the paper and having it featured only in the centre. This is still a fun way to use Designer Series Paper however and so decided to share it as well!
