Heartfelt ~ Friendship Card ~ Ink + Inspiration Blog Hop

Today I am participating in a fabulous blog hop with a great group of talented paper crafters.

Today we are sharing those lovey dovey projects!

Valentine’s Day isn’t a huge thing here in Australia, and I don’t so much celebrate it myself – but I just love the cute products that Stampin’ Up! designed for us to use.

Today I have chosen to make a cute card, but used a friendship sentiment instead of a Valentine’s Day specific sentiment.

I love that Stampin’ Up! designs with all crafters from all around the globe in mind.

Don’t do Valentines Day? That’s ok – this set is very versatile!

Here’s a look my finished card. 

To create this card I followed these steps:

• Cut a card base from Whisper White to your standard card base.
• Cut a layer 1/8” smaller from Basic Black to adhere to the Pineapple Punch base.
• Cut a piece of Thick Whisper White to 1/8” smaller than your previous layer of Whisper White. I have then taken some Sparkle Glimmer Paper and cut to the same size as my Whisper White layer in width, but only made it 2.5” in height.
  I then took two patterns from the From My Heart Specialty Designer Series Paper and cut one piece to 3” in height and the same width as the Whisper White Layer. I have adhered both the Sparkle Glimmer and DSP. I then took a 1/2” strip of From My Heart DSP and adhered this to where these two pieces join.
• I have used the Heart Punches from the bundle and cut the scalloped heart from some Flirty Flamingo cardstock and then also punched a heart out using the straight edge heart punch from the From My Heart DSP. On the straight edge heart, I have stamped a sentiment “So lucky to have a friend like you” in Memento Black. Adhere these two hearts together.
• Take some Whisper White Polka Dot Tulle and tie a large bow as shown and I have adhered this over the top of the 1/2” strip with Glue Dots. Now adhere your heart over the top of this with Stampin’ Dimensionals.
• To embellish I have added a White Library Clip and some From My Heart Faceted Gems.
• To decorate the inside, I have added a layer of Basic Black and layer of Whisper White cardstock and stamped a sentiment in Memento Black and a heart in Flirty Flamingo ink.

Here’s a close up where you can see some of the detail of the card.

The Whisper White Polka Dot Tulle is actually probably my favourite ribbon/trim. I just love the soft and subtle texture it gives.

Couldn’t be having a naked card, so had to decorate the inside, and who could resist with an adorable sentiment like that?
