Honey Bee Bundle ~ ESAD Blog Hop

Hello everyone and welcome back to my blog.

Today I am participating in a blog hop with a group of awesome demonstrators the ESAD group (extra special Australian demonstrators) *wink*

Today we are sharing a huge array of samples using the brand new SAB and Mini Catalogue products because we are all just so IN LOVE!

I am so excited to share this card with you using one of my favourites, the Honey Bee bundle!

Here is my fun card…

I actually made 10 of this card. yep 10! For a fabulous swap run by the fabulous Kylie and Bruno.

I loved the bees so much I just wanted to share them with everyone!

To create this card I followed these steps:

• Cut a card base from Crushed Curry to your standard card base.
• Cut a layer 1/8” smaller from thick Whisper White to adhere to the Crushed Curry base.
• Cut a piece of Sahara Sand cardstock to 1/8” smaller than your previous layer of Whisper White, and then cut a piece of the Golden Honey Specialty DSP to the same width x 2” high. Before adhering this to the Sahara Sand, I have wrapped Linen Thread around where the DSP meets the Sahara Sand and adhered with Tear & Tape. Adhere this layer to the Whisper White layer.
• Cut one of the Stitched so Sweetly scalloped rectangles in Basic Black. Adhere in the centre of the card with Stampin’ Dimensionals .
• Using a scrap of Whisper White, stamp a bee hive with Daffodil Delight and die cut with coordinating dies. Adhere this to the centre of your black rectangle.
• Die cut two bees (see picture) from the Golden Honey DSP. I have coloured these with Mango Melody Blends in light and dark on the body and then added clear Wink of Stella to the wings. Set aside.
• Die cut some hearts with the coordinating dies from Gold Glimmer Cardstock. Set aside.
• Take a 3/4” strip of scrap Whisper White and stamp your sentiment and then flag the ends (I find the Tailored Tag punch really useful to do this.
• Cut two strips of the Daffodil Delight Ruched Ribbon to just longer than your sentiment banner. Using some tear and tape, adhere the ribbon to the back of your sentiment strip. Now adhere your sentiment strip to the card with Glue Dots.
• Using Stampin’ Dimensionals adhere your bees to the card where pictured.
• Using your choice of adhesive, adhere your gold hearts.

Here’s a close up where you can see the finished card.

I just am loving yellow at the moment, and love combining our different shades of yellow! It must be the summer sun here that is inspiring me!

As you can see I have slightly flagged the ends of the ribbon before adhering.

Another little sneak peek for you, where you can see some of the detail.

One tip I do have is to go easy on the Stampin’ Blends – as using them on the DSP is quite thin and will bleed a little more than usual!
