I’ve had a busy week – in fact I’ve been a busy BEE! < pardon the pun!
The house is officially on the market & the real estate photographer comes on Monday. I’ve been crazily trying to get the house ready for photos < and hopefully a buyer to come and buy this place so we can move — and who knows – a pretty new craft room?
So in the theme of all things busy bee – I have created a nice and sunny lovey themed card using the Meant to Bee bundle.
I was drawn to this bundle because it coordinates beautifully in fact with another of the bundles/sets we have “Bee My Valentine”. This new Meant to Bee bundle was released in the new Scrapbooking Brochure and comes with some components that are perfect for both card making & scrapbooking! I love how versatile some of these products are becoming
Here’s a look at my project for this week…
the finished meant to bee love themed card

Here is a look at my finished card! It’s not a fun fold — I know wow! But I was so inspired to create a bright and sunny card and make those awesome coordinating hexagons POP!
If bees aren’t your things – I totally suggest buying the dies just for those hexagons. They are awesome and so versatile.
They actually cut out both a hexagon AND a hexagon frame all in one pass through the die cut machine.
For this card I used them both and made a nice and bright stamp collaged piece which I have then cut a hexagon out of to add back into the negative with some height added with Stampin’ Dimensionals.
my colour inspiration for my meant to bee card
It’s definitely summer here with some very warm days and I was wanting to show the warmth on this card & I mean bees just make me think of flowers and warmer days!
I added in all the tones of yellow in our colour collection with a touch of toned down blues/greens with the Summer Splash and Granny Apple Green. This was such a fun combo.

Here is a close up look at the finished card.
If I could give one tip – that is to use StazOn Jet Black Ink for the bees. There is definitely a much higher intensity to the black using StazOn as opposed to Memento Tuxedo Black Ink which looks a lot nicer with the bright yellow of the bee.
