I hope that you are having a lovely week wherever you are and are having better weather than what we are currently having here – think torrential rain and lots of wind! Considering tomorrow is the first day of Summer, it sure doesn’t look like it outside.
I have had a load of fun in the craft room however and have pretty new goodies at my desk that I am yet to play with. In the meantime however I did have a play making these gorgeous ombre monochromatic cards using a mixture of quite a few stunning Stampin’ Up! products.
Scroll down and you can find the PDF for today’s project and more info!
the finished set of ombre monochromatic cards

Here is a look at the finished set of cards that I made with the Ombre Monochromatic blended theme. It was a lot of fun to mix and match the different monochromatic tones to see how they would look.
It’s been hard to pick a favourite but I think for once the red is actually coming in as a fave!
a close up look at the detail

Here is a look at the detail and texture on these finished cards. I love how the combination of heat embossing and dry embossing really adds to these cards and makes them so dimensional and tactile. I just want to touch all the texture and layers on these cards.
Something that I did love when making these ombre monochromatic styles was actually stamping in black and white and leaving it uncoloured. With fine line stamped images like this it’s a natural instinct to colour them in when they also can look great left just in black and white!
ombre monochromatic card #1 pink/purple tones

Here is a look at the card I actually made first. When considering this design I immediately thought of deep pinks and rich purples and love how it looks in these colours. The hummingbird is coloured in some slightly lighter tones but still includes a touch the; Gorgeous Grape, Blackberry Bliss and Berry Burst tones.
ombre monochromatic card #2 yellow tones

Here is a look at the yellow/orange version that I made on my live video. I loved the warmer/happy/cheery card and it felt like a card full of sunshine. It’s amazing how the topic/view might be the same – but the colour, mood and meaning can change everything!
ombre monochromatic card #3 red/pink tones

This is actually my favourite and I don’t really know why. This version is rich, passionate and full of emotion. At this point I should probably mention that I get intensely passionate about things and stuck into their meaning. It’s like this one has a story!
ombre monochromatic card #4 blue tones

This one is gorgeous! Who doesn’t love some rich and vibrant blues? Stunning! With the mixture of gold this is just breathtaking!
I hope that you enjoyed seeing these ombre monochromatic cards and be sure to check out all the resources including video tutorial, free PDF etc below. I would love to see what you make!
