I had a blast creating this fun card on my Facebook Live last night with my followers. I always love popping on every week and spending time with everyone. If you don’t want to miss out catching me live, pop on and follow my events page and tick going to be reminded of when I go live on Facebook, or check out my YouTube replays here. This week I made a Pop Up Box Card using the super cool & trendy Stampin’ Up! Rock and Roll Suite which would be perfect for the avid music lover, teenager, boy or anyone that you think would love this card!
I shared how to make this card in both metric and imperial because they both have a couple of differences due to our cardstock sizes, so be sure to check out the FREE PDF I have shared at the bottom of this post!
the finished pop up box card
Here is a look at the finished pop up box card in all its glory! How cool does it look in those bright and trendy colours! I love the bright pops of blue, yellow and green with the pops of gold and glitter! It really is a ‘wow’ card. The other product that I think really has the WOW factor on this card that is quite unexpected but definitely goes with this suite and I think is a must have is that Holographic Foil! That foil was released as a part of the Stargazing space themed suite in the annual catalogue but is so cool with this suite! You can see it linked in the supply list down below.
This look at the front of the card is really just the start of the card, the wow is on the inside with the pop up box card, but I just wanted to create something bright fun and colourful.
You can see a look at the colour palette for this card here. In my video I mentioned that the Parakeet Party will actually be leaving us at the end of April *sad face* To see all the retiring colours and shop for them before they go click here.

a close up look at the detailed elements
You can really see the wow effect of just how cool that Holographic Foil shines and the beautiful look of the More Dazzle Specialty Paper on those die cut stars. I know that they say not to add glitter and shine and too many fussy bits on masculine cards but I say to the bin with that theory!
P.S. As part of this suite there are some super RAD Adhesive Backed Lightning and Stars – these are an acrylic based embellishment and the super cool thing about these is that you can colour them with the Stampin’ Blends as they are plastic and as our Stampin’ Blends are alcohol based they will colour these shapes! You can see here on the star that is Parakeet Party I have coloured this star to add to my sentiment! Super cool!
The inside of the pop up box card + a writing panel
Here is the WOW factor. You open the card and it pops open into this box pop up! How cool is that! When I saw this super cool guitar pick die that comes as part of the suite I couldn’t help but think of the possibilities and instead of a shaker card idea, I thought of something similar to a shadow box, a pop up box card!
This is actually so easy to create! I love the combination of sentiments – You’re a Rockstar – Thanks For Being an Icon! Apparently my son in the live last night stated that he liked to rock it out on an electric guitar, maybe I will save this card for him, although I am not sure I am quite ready for the noise of electric guitars or drums quite yet!
The inside of the card includes the writing panel the opposite to what you would find in a ‘normal’ card with it being on the left hand side instead of the right. Of course I had to include a writing panel. I just can’t have a card without room to write. There is always something to say!
the dimension of the pop up box close up
You can see here just how dimensional this pop up box is. On the metric sized card the pop up box is 1cm high whereas the imperial pop up box is 1/2″ – the beauty is that it folds completely flat and fits in a standard envelope. That is what I call the perfect fun fold!
I hope that this card was able to give you some inspiration and that you were inspired to give a pop up box fun fold a go.
