So back again! Another catch up week to share with you all.
This week was special ~ it was my very first mother’s day. I felt so special. I can’t wait for a couple of years when maybe I will get handmade breakfast in bed. Love my boy so much and very proud to be his Mum. It was also the week that my little boy hit four months old. When he was little each month milestone I was taking a photo of him sitting up on the chair in his nursery with his sock monkey. I thought it was a really cute way of capturing his growth. Time goes so quick with babies. Before you know it they are walking and talking!
I used a mixture of old and new on this spread. Some older Project Life cards Kiwi, Midnight and Studio Calico and I added some newer Dear Lizzy and also some brand new speciality cards from the High Five collection. I loved the gold foil!
Here is week 13!
Here’s a look at the spread. Once again choosing my usual colour scheme. I really like how the gold foil cards from High Five tied in the with the spread. I made it work by working in some sort of a triangle over the spread adding bits of gold to make it balanced. I do apologise for the glare on photo in the top right pocket. I photograph these layouts in the plastic protectors and sometimes glare is a bit of an issue.
Here is the process video giving you a better look at how I put this spread together;
Here are some close up images.
In the video the title card is really hard to see as the navy of the thickers really blends into the black however you can see here that it does stand out. I added some gold to make the title card really stand out. As I mentioned in the process video I REALLY struggled with this week’s title card. I just couldn’t make it work. I ended up just having to walk away from it.
I used a few bits and pieces left over from kits on this layout. That vellum phrase “my heart is full” is from an older SCRAPPERY kit which featured the Maggie Holmes Open Book range. I have also used that ‘crushing’ word from an old Heidi Swapp sticker sheet. I am pretty sure it was the last sticker on the sheet that I hadn’t use. I love that feeling of using a packet of something up. I also added more of that gorgeous gold sequin trim that I have been adding to everything!
This section is probably my favourite part of the layout. I am not sure if it because I love the thickers and wooden veneer banner or I just love these pictures of my son so much. He looks so cute and tiny. He was starting to lose his baby face in these pictures though.
Thanks for stopping by and checking out my attempt at catching up on my 2014 album.
Much love,
