Fun fold cards always bring a little extra magic to the crafting table — and this Pull Down Pop Up Card is such a clever design! I recently created this project during the Online Stamping Retreat class taught by Kylie Bertucci, and I couldn’t wait to share it because it’s the perfect mix of interactive and practical.

This design is ideal for holding a gift card, making it a wonderful option when you want to give something handmade while still including a thoughtful little surprise inside.

Why I Love This Pull Down Pop Up Card

One of the things I love most about attending Online Stamping Retreat is discovering new ways to make interactive cards. The engineering behind this design is so satisfying — simply pull down the tab and the panels pop open to reveal space for a message or gift card.

It’s a fun fold that feels impressive but is actually very achievable once you understand the structure. Cards like this remind me how much creativity there is in paper crafting!

Featuring the Hobby Haven Suite

For my version of this project, I used the Stampin’ Up! Hobby Haven Suite, which brings such a warm and cosy feel to the design. The soft kitchen-themed imagery and gentle colour palette work beautifully with the layered panels of the card. You can find these products linked at the bottom of this post.

I love how the patterned papers help create instant visual interest, while die-cut elements add depth and dimension. The little apron and baking elements on the front give this card such a sweet personality — perfect for celebrating a friend who loves baking or simply someone special.

A Perfect Gift Card Holder Idea

If you’re ever stuck on how to present a gift card in a more personal way, interactive designs like this are a great solution. The pull down mechanism creates a moment of surprise, and the inside panels give you space for messages, decoration, or even photos.
