Happy Saturday my lovely blog followers!
Today I am quickly popping on to share a very belated post with you!
I have had this in my archives to share with you for some while!
This was actually a gift that I made for my husband back in August last year! So don’t be shocked – it actually does use what are now some retired products – but don’t fear – this project can be easily replicated using current supplies!
It is such a fun gift to make someone to present a fun surprise.
Here’s a look at the finished box.
It’s what is called an ‘exploding box’. You open it up to reveal an exploding surprise.
Here’s a look at the decorated top.
I have layered it with the gorgeous Layering Squares dies and decorated it with some the Stitched Stars Dies and an array of embellishments from the Mini Catalogue just gone and some Linen Thread.
Here’s a look at the fun exploding design!
This reveals and the fun Mini Curvy Keepsakes Box which unfolds to reveal a little love note that I wrote to my husband.
I have used my old typewriter to type out my little notes to my husband.
Then I have created pockets on each side which have little pull out tags with all the activities I planned for the trip I surprised him with.
The trip we have not yet taken due to COVID making it a little unpredictable – but we will get there!
I have decorated it with some fun die cutes and stamping using the Artisan Textures stamp.
I also used the Star Designer Elements. These are so much fun for masculine projects.
Here’s a close up look at some of the texture and detail.
I have also used some of the gorgeous Early Espresso Faux Suede Trim with some of the Antique slides. Such a great masculine embellishment.
Here’s a look at the finished exploding box and lid.
It really is such a fun project that looks complex but is actually so easy to make!
Another close up look at some of the detail.
This was such a fun project to make and I am planning to make some more of these beauties with some more of the patterned paper we have in our current catalogues.
I am also thinking of running this as a class.
Let me know if this is something you will be interested in.
