Thanks for visiting my blog today for another week of GDP.
This week is a fun one – we are celebrating everything CHRISTMAS! It’s almost December and it’s time to share those Christmas cards/projects!
If you haven’t already started your Christmas crafting, now is the time to start!
Be sure to pop over to the Global Design Project blog to check out all the team’s amazing projects and participate in this week’s awesome challenge which you can see below.
I had so much fun creating a card for this week’s challenge.
When I think of Christmas I think of all the fun and traditions I have with my family.
One of the things that I love and have always loved doing is baking with my family. I used to make gingerbread and decorate them with my sister and my family.
This reminded me of the Gingerbread & Peppermint suite which inspired this fun card…
Here’s a look at my finished card.
I have gone with a fun emboss resist technique on the gorgeous new Kraft Paper for this fun card.
This is easily achieved by repeatedly stamping an image over the background the then taking a Blending Brush in the colour of your choice and lightly adding it to the edges.
I have chosen Crumb Cake to add to the Kraft cardstock for a nice vintage and distressed look.
The brown tones look great combined with pops of red and the sharp ‘pop’ of the sentiment on Basic Black.
Here’s a close up look at the finished card where you can see some of the texture and detail.
I have embellished with some of the gorgeous Real Red Mini Ruffled Ribbon. I adore this trim. It adds such fun texture without too much bulk to a card. I have also added some Linen Thread and some of the adorable Gingerbread & Peppermint Acrylic Shapes. These add such fun dimension to the card.
Isn’t that sentiment adorable by the way? This set has adorable sentiments!
Here’s a look at the inside of my card which is simple with layers of Basic Black and Basic White with a small strip of the Gingerbread & Peppermint Designer Series Paper and a simple sentiment stamped in Real Red.
I hope today’s card gave you some inspiration to get your Christmas craft on.
Be sure to head over to the blog and check out this week’s challenge.
Have a lovely week everyone! xx
