Stampin’ Up! Playful Pets Suite ~ Easel Fold Birthday Card

Happy Hump Day! It’s mid week and it’s almost my time for days off after one more shift tonight, which means crafting time is approaching!

Today I have a fun card to share with you all which is for one of my gorgeous crafting besties and Stampin’ Up! downlines on my team – the lovely Jodie!

Jodie is a dog lover through and through. We share a love of dogs, and so when I knew I had to make her a birthday card and saw the Playful Pets suite – I was set.

Here’s a look at my final card.

I decided to make an easel card to really feature the gorgeous Playful Pets Designer Series Paper and I was actually inspired by a card that I saw on Pinterest….

This card was made by the lovely Jan McQueen. She makes some adorable cards!

Here’s the one I was inspired by!

I have used the same design that she used except with the Playful Pets suite of products.

I have fussy cut some fun doggies out of the Designer Series Paper and used the coordinating dies from the Pampered Pets bundle to cut out the grey dog.

I have then placed all this on a Whisper White and Real Red Stitched Nested Label which I have die cut out. I did stamp some of the adorable butterflies in Flirty Flamingo from the Pampered Pets Stamp Set for a bit of added interest.

Here’s a close up of the finished card where you can see some of the texture and detail.

I have placed some more of the Playful Pets Designer Series Paper on the inside layer of the card, which I have also wrapped with some of the bakers twine from the Playful Pets Trim Combo Pack.

This helps the card to ‘stand’ up and be displayed — hence the Easel Card name.

I have then heat embossed the sentiment in white on some Basic Black cardstock and left this in a fun strip before adhering this near the focal point of the card.

I have embellished with some Basic Red Rhinestones and some Linen Thread with one of the CUTE Playful Pets Trinkets.

Here’s a look at the decorated inside of the card which I have kept pretty simple with layers of Basic Black and Whisper White with some more of the Playful Pets Designer Series Paper and some bakers twine. I have also stamped an additional sentiment in Memento Black and adhered one of the gorgeous puppies which I have fussy cut out also/
