Welcome to my blog today and thanks for dropping by.
Today I am excited to bring my take on another TGIF challenge.
This week we are using the awesome masks from Stampin’ Up!
There are some great ones to choose from and so many different techniques that you can try with them.
I was inspired to do something a little different. See below for more info…
In the mean time be sure to head over to the blog to check out all the other designer’s great projects and join in on the challenge yourself. Check it out here.
Now you have seen this week’s challenge, I can share with you what I created…
I had a lot of fun doing something a little bit different with the masks this week and using them through my Stampin’ Cut N’ Emboss Machine as a bit of an embossing plate. I used the dotty mask from the Basic Pattern masks to create this fun embossed spotty background.
To do this I cut a piece of Fluid 100 Watercolour Paper and placed it on my mask, using some Washi Tape to help hold it in place and then added some Paper Towel as a ‘shim’ and ran it through my machine.
It’s a great way to do even more with your masks.
I then added some light colouring with Coastal Cabana Ink and a Blending Brush.
I decided to incorporate the beautiful Scallop & Contours bundle on my card with some deep purples. I love the flowers in this bundle and they come as a two step so you don’t even have to worry about colouring in – the stamps are there to do it for you!
Here is a close up look at the finished card.
I added one of the beautiful birds from the Swallows dies. One of my favourites. I added some slight inking to this with Coastal Cabana ink.
To embellish I added some of the Elegant Faceted Gems and some Linen Thread.
I decorated the inside with some more stamping and another one of the Swallows.
This was such a fun card to put together.
I hope that you got some inspiration and another great way to use your masks.
Don’t forget to pop by the blog and check out this week’s challenge.
Crafty hugs! xx
