Let’s have a look at todays’ fun project…
I really wanted to create a ‘chalkboard’ like effect on my background. Normally you would do this on Basic Black cardstock but I wanted to give it a go on the Soft Suede for a bit of a different look and I love how it turned out. It really helped to soften down that colour and add a bit of a rustic/vintage feel to the card.
I have decided to really feature the Cottage Rose bundle on my card and show that what could be conveyed as a masculine colour scheme into a really feminine card with lots of flowers.
Here is a close up look at my finished card. I have added lots of different textures and colours to really pull this colour scheme together.
The beautiful dies that go with this bundle have lots of dies that don’t coordinate with stamps, but instead create these beautiful intricate die cuts that just look gorgeous! They were perfect for this card.
To create a base for my focal point I actually pulled in another die set, the Seasonal Label dies. The beautiful large label is perfect for a card front. I have lightly blended some Soft Suede on top and it was so beautiful, particularly with the Cottage Rose Designer Series Paper floral fussy cut behind it.
Here is a look at the inside of my card where I have stamped some of the beautiful leaves in Shaded Spruce and then used a Blending Brush with some Pear Pizzazz over the top.
I love the pop of colour this gives to the interior of my card.
