Hello there and thanks for dropping by my blog today! I am excited to share another TGIF challenge with you and this week we have a fun themed challenge all about BEACHES!
Personally this excited me as we see out the end of winter here in Australia – anything that indicates warmer weather has my attention!
At Stampin’ Up! we have loads of beach and summery/water themed products so it was hard to choose…
I decided to go with a set/bundle that has been in my stash for quite some time, but has not seen a great deal of my attention.
This beautiful What Done bundle is gorgeous and so versatile. It can be whimsical, it can be male/female – the choice is yours.
I wanted to try and blending technique with the ripped paper look, it is so easy and fun.
Do you want to check out this week’s challenge and play along?
You can check it out here.
Here is a look at the finished card.
To create that ‘water’ look, I have taken two piece of scrap cardstock ripped along one edge the same length as my card base and held them down spaced apart with some post it note or washi tape and used a Blending Brush and a mixture of Coastal Cabana, Bermuda Bay and Pacific Point inks to create my water.
This is so much fun!
I then stamped a variety of included stamps from the Whale Done stamp set to create an Ocean theme.
Here you can see a close up of the finished card.
I added some ‘bubbles’ which have been heat embossed in white and also spritzed some Coastal Cabana Ink using a Stampin’ write marker to add some extra texture.
My little bit of ‘seaweed’ and ‘ocean’ grass are actually die cuts from Potted Succulent dies die cut in Shaded Spruce and Parakeet Party cardstock. Aren’t they cool?
I have added lots of blended stamping in this card for my sea creatures adding Coastal Cabana and Pacific Point to my whale and Parakeet Party and Shaded Spruce to my turtle.
My sentiment is actually from the Amazing Phrasing stamp set which is from Sale-a-Bration and is available until the end of the month for FREE with a qualifying order of $180 in my store. Check out my store for more information on this here.
Here is a look at the inside of the card where I have replicated some of the details from the card front to the inside for some extra details.
I had so much fun playing along with the challenge this fortnight and hope that you will too!
Make sure you head along to the challenge here.
Crafty hugs!
