Hello everyone…welcome to May!
Gosh we are getting on with the year – it’s crazy to think we are already in the fifth month of the year! I love May – because here in Australia it’s the month of celebrating mother’s!
In May particularly so – it’s mother’s day as well as my mother’s birthday! – and mother’s day here of course for me. Today features a bit of that theme with a card that is totally appropriate for any mother (or lovely woman you know!)
This month we are featuring our favourite flower bundles and this month I have chosen to feature the beautiful Hydrangea Haven bundle that is carrying over to the new Annual Catalogue that is going live in just a few days! YAY!
This bundle is just GORGEOUS and I absolutely loved playing with it. This blog hop shows you just some of the fun possibilities. If you receive or purchase the tutorial – there are even more ideas from both myself and the other designers!
What is Stamping Society?
It’s a monthly tutorial bundle from six different designers all over the world and each month we do a blog hop featuring a certain theme or product and then put together a tutorial and video which you can either purchase, earn for free on our teams or earn for FREE as one of our customers.
See the bottom of this post for more information on that.
The lovely designers on the team are:
Martin Stone: UK
Ashley Fifer: Canada
Angela Meiritz-Reid: New Zealand
Charlet Mallett: USA
Danielle Bennenk: Netherlands
Let’s have a look at todays’ fun project…
Here’s a look at the finished card. I really wanted to make the colours POP on this card. I was really inspired by a hydrangea I saw online for this card with bright GREEN colours, we often think of purples when we think of hydrangeas – so I wanted to do something a little bit different.
To achieve this slightly different hydrangea look, I have die cut out my base hydrangea and lots of little hydrangeas and before sticking them down – I have taken my Blending Brush and some Pacific Point Ink and blended the edges slightly before adhering them down and then adding a Basic Rhinestone Jewel to the centre which I have also coloured with a dark Bermuda Bay Stampin’ Blend.
The background of the card I have achieved by embossing a layer of the Coastal Cabana cardstock with the Tasteful Textile 3D Embossing Folder.
Here’s a close up look at the finished card. I used the Stitched So Sweetly Dies and one of the gorgeous labels, which I have also die cut from Coastal Cabana.
I have adhered this on Stampin’ Dimensionals over some of the gorgeous White Flowers for Every Season Ribbon and Linen Thread. This provided a nice ‘base’ from my focal point to go on.
My sentiment is ‘To an Incredible Woman’ – so appropriate for those mother’s day cards out there! and I have heat embossed this white on Basic Black.
Here’s a look at the inside of my card which I have kept simple with layers of Sahara Sand and Basic White with a simple strip of Coastal Cabana and a little bit of Linen Thread. I have then added some simple stamping from the Hydrangea Haven stamp set with some leaves stamped in Memento Black and Granny Apple Green.
I then added an additional sentiment stamped in Coastal Cabana.
I hope you got some inspiration and enjoyment out of today’s card share.
