Hey lovely crafty friends!
I’m so excited to share this Surprise Side Slide-Out Card that I created during the October 2025 Online Stamping Retreat! This fun and interactive project was taught by the fabulous Kylie Bertucci in her duo class with Bruno Bertucci — and I couldn’t wait to put my own twist on it using the beautiful Perfectly Pears Bundle from Stampin’ Up! 🍐

I’ve always loved cards that have a little something extra, and this one definitely delivers! The side panel slides out to reveal a surprise inside — making it the perfect design for a heartfelt card that stands out.

For my version, I reached for the Perfectly Pears Bundle, which was so much fun to colour. I water coloured the pears with a blend of warm yellows, oranges, and reds to bring that cozy autumn vibe to life. The shading gives them such a realistic glow — they almost look good enough to eat! 😍

All the Layers 🍁

To complement the pears, I paired them with the Gathering Together Specialty Designer Series Paper, which adds that perfect mix of rustic charm and elegance. The background features softly patterned leaves in autumn tones that tie everything together beautifully.

I added die-cut leaves, a touch of gold ribbon, and a few embellishments for texture and shine. And, of course, that lovely sentiment — “A good friend is a gift” — just felt so fitting for this cozy, heartwarming design.

The Surprise Inside

When you open the card, there’s a layered panel that slides out with more stamped and coloured pears (because you can never have too many, right?). I kept the inside coordinated but simple so there’s still space to write a personal message.

This type of card is such a fun one to give — it’s interactive, unique, and packed with detail.
