Timeless Tropical ~ Pineapple Card ~ International Blog Highlights

Hello lovely blog readers and welcome back to my little blog.

I am really excited to be sharing with you today a new card I made with my FAVOURITE new set from the new Mini Catalogue which is NOW LIVE! Yay!

Today I am also participating in a really fun blog hop that I just love being part of, Kylie’s International Blog Highlights. This is a monthly blog hop where demonstrators from around the world participate in a blog hop sharing their latest crafty creations using fun Stampin’ Up! supplies.

Today the theme is THANK YOU.

They really can mean so much and there is just so much that we can be thankful for.

This card below I kept very simple, and actually created as part of a card swap that I am partaking in.

Here is the finished card.

I have really fallen in love with all the different yellows that Stampin’ Up! has in their beautiful colour families lately and this card was no exception.

So I will make a confession here: I LOVE pineapples. I did grow up in Queensland, not far from the beautiful Big Pineapple and second confession is that pineapples were totally my pregnancy craving! Hehe!

Here are some simple steps on how I created this card:

To create this card I followed these steps:

• Cut a card base from Pineapple Punch to your standard card base.
• Cut a layer 1/8” smaller from Basic Black to adhere to the Pineapple Punch base.
• Cut a piece of Thick Whisper White to 1/8” smaller than your previous layer of Whisper White.
• Take the pineapple stamp from the Tropical Chic stamp set and mount on a clear block. Then using a Pineapple Punch and Granny Apple Green Stampin’ Write Marker, colour the appropriate areas of the stamp with the marker, and ‘huff/breath’ on your stamp before stamping on your layer of Whisper White. Repeat this step all over the background as pictured, until your background is full. I have stamped off the edges also.
• Taking your Layering Circle dies, cut a circle directly from this stamped piece in whichever size you choose of circles. I have cut this from the bottom right of the card.
• Before adhering the circle. Take your stamped piece and adhere to your layer of Basic Black. Now adhere this to your card base with Stampin’ Dimensionals.
• Taking your die cut circle, stamp the word ‘thank you’ from the Tropical Chic stamp set in Memento black, then adhere this back onto the card, lining up the pineapples and adhere with Stampin’ Dimensionals.
• Take your die cut machine, and cut some leaves from the coordinating Tropical Oasis dies in Granny Apple Green. I have cut one of each leaf. While you are die cutting, also cut some flowers from some Gold Glimmer cardstock. Adhere these to the card with Glue Dots as shown.
• Take some Basic Rhinestones and a Dark Basic Black Stampin’ Blend and colour these with the brush tip end. Adhere these to your gold flowers.

Here you can see a close up of the finished card and all those fun pineapples stamped appropriately with the Pineapple Punch colour…gosh I am going to miss that colour when it retires mid year!
