Hello to all my lovely blog readers, wherever you are coming from.
Today I am excited to be taking part in the lovely Kylie Bertucci’s Demo Training Program Monthly Blog Hop.
This blog hop is full of some amazing & talented paper crafters from all around the world, doing what we love and sharing what we love!
Today I am going to share with you a card that I actually CASE’d from the new Mini Catalogue.
When I am first starting out with a new stamp set or bundle, I quite often will refer to the catalogue with all those amazing samples for my initial inspiration.
Let’s face it — some of those samples shown in the catalogue is what sells you on the set/bundle in the first place! – I know it does for me.
Today I am going to share a card that I made using the Timeless Tropical Stamp Set & Dies.
In the catalogue, they have used a different colour way – but I had to go for my timeless favourites of blue & green!
It actually reminds me of something my mother used to always say to me, “Blue and green must not be seen, unless there is a colour in between” – I have never lived for that! Haha!
Here is my finished card.
I used the beautiful Tropical Oasis Designer Series Paper and one of the more neutral and subtle papers with the textured brown.
I ran this through my die cutting machine with the gorgeous new coordinating embossing folder, Coastal Weave. I just love the texture this gives.
To add a bit more texture, I actually used a fine sanding block to lightly sand over the top.
All of Stampin’ Up!’s DSP has a white core, so when you sand it does expose a lovely white core.
I love the vintage and rustic look it gives.
I have then cut out some flowers from the Timeless Tropical Dies in Pool Party, Old Olive and Pretty Peacock. I wanted these to somewhat cascade over my card from one corner to the other.
I also cut a couple of coordinating leaves in the Old Olive.
I adhered these to the card, and then used my Noble Peacock Rhinestones to embellish them.
Here you can find a list of all the blogs that have taken part in this awesome hop.
To finish off the card I have taken and punched from some Whisper White cardstock a label using the Label Me Fancy punch. I am just in love with this new punch, I think it is a must have staple!!
There is just so much you can do with it.
I have stamped my ‘thank you’ greeting in Pretty Peacock Ink.
To decorate the inside, I have added a layer of Soft Suede and Whisper White and stamped some palm trees in Old Olive ink.
I love how it turned out, and I have so many people I could send this card to, that I might just have to make some more.
I’d love you to hop along and check out all the other amazing blogs that took part in this fabulous hops, because I just know that you will find heaps of inspiration!
Crafty hugs. xx
