Welcome to the third day of The Stamping Lounge‘s 12 Days of Christmas Challenge! We are excited to be bringing you twelve days of Christmas challenges to get you inspired and creating some of those festive cards for the upcoming Christmas season!
You can see more about the challenge over here but in the mean time you can see the day three challenge here as well as the project that I created! Today’s challenge is all about being inspired by your favourite Christmas movie! I chose ‘The Holiday’ because I just love that movie & Jude Law. I was inspired by the wintery scenes and the cute quaint English cottages.
If you are a Stamping Lounge member you will also get member exclusive tutorials and more for each day! Head over here to check out the memberships and if you are a member check out today’s tutorial for all my tips of creating the card I have shared here today on how to create this watercoloured Yuletide Village card.

MY water coloured yuletide village christmas card

Here is a look at my version of the challenge. I was really inspired by one of my favourite Christmas movies “The Holiday” and the cute & quaint English cottages and the white Christmas scenes. I don’t know if I love this movie more for the scenery or Jude Law! Haha!
I had a lot of fun water colouring this card and I have shared a 40 minute tutorial video and PDF download over on The Stamping Lounge for members. Check out a membership here.
a close up look at the finished yuletide village card

Here is a close up look at the finished card and some of those fun details. I also incorporated the Falling Snow Background stamp on my card to complete the wintery scene. This was a fun way to include some emboss resist and use some blending on my background.
To embellish I used some loose snowflakes, iridescent gems and some beautiful Natural Tones Linen Thread.
a look at the finished inside

The inside of my card was kept simple and instead of water colouring I added a cottage coloured with some Stampin’ Blends and some light ink blending.
I hope that you enjoyed seeing this card from day three, and the fun that I had water colouring this Yuletide Village scene. I would love to see your version of the day three challenge. Be sure to share your projects using the hashtag #TSL12daysofchristmas
Much love. xx
