I had a blast sharing a fun new accordion step fold card over on my Facebook Live last night with everyone. I have been meaning to share this card for a while since I shared a memory of making one at an in person class that I ran back in 2018 with the Myths & Magic suite from Stampin’ Up!
It is a beauty of a card design that would be perfect when you have lots to say, the card is coming from multiple people and you need room to write or as the lovely Jaimie suggested on my live – you could even add photos to the back panels! The accordion step fold card has many possibilities! I have shared below some pictures of how it turned out and a PDF tutorial of just how to make it at the end of this post.
the finished accordion step fold card
Here is a look at my finished accordion step fold card. I love how it looks with all those tiered steps sharing just a sneak of the gorgeous patterned designs on the Designer Series Paper. This Unbounded Beauty suite has gorgeous bright colours and features all the new 2024-2026 In Colours. The secret to this design of fun fold is having fun with patterns! Choose any Designer Series Paper that you have in your stash and have fun! Here is a look at all the designs in the Unbounded Beauty Designer Series Paper that will be available in my online store from May 1st.

The coordinating colours for these Designer Series Paper designs are: Berry Burst, Calypso Coral, Peach Pie, Petunia Pop, Pretty in Pink, Pretty Peacock, Shy Shamrock, Summer Splash
a close up of the finished card and those framed details…
Here is a close up detail of the front of the card which I have decorated using the Unbounded Love Bundle. I didn’t realise how much I would love this sweet bundle until I started playing. The beautiful days come with a huge selection of different frames and labels that you just have to play with to understand their beauty and versatility! I love that you can layer them and use them all interchangeably. I mixed and matched this with the Flowers of Beauty Bundle and added some of those sweet flowers which have been die cut in Berry Burst with a gorgeous Resin Dot added to the centres.
The album was complete tied with some of the adorable Peach Pie 3/8″ Bordered Ribbon. I had a great tip from a YouTube follower that commented and suggested adding some clear nail polish to the ends of the ribbon to help it stop fraying.
the accordion step fold card all folded out
Check it out! This is how amazing the accordion step fold design looks when it is all folded out! It really is a treat when you open this card and see all the beautiful paper designs and just how big this card is! I have chosen to decorate each second panel and let some of the other panels do it for themselves with the gorgeous patterns. I added a mixture of the die cut labels and frames accented with some fussy cut flowers from the Unbounded Beauty Designer Series Paper and also added a mixture of sentiments from the Unbounded Love Stamp Set. That stamp set has some sentiments for everything!
some close up pictures of the finished card
Here are some close ups of the finished card that show some of the finished details. I did go to town adding lots of the In Colour Glimmer Paper – as anyone that knows me will know that I love glitter! Sparkle and glitter belongs on everything!
I wanted to add an embellishment to the inside of the card but as it was being folded I need something that was not too dimensional. The Shiny Sequins were perfect for this and looked great in the centres of the die cut flowers.

Hi Kayla! I’m a Demo from the US who loves your projects! I just watched the video to create the accordion step fold card, it was so much fun! I”m not finished though. You enabled me! lol I just ordered the in color glimmer paper and the Flowers of Beauty bundle. I have the Unbounded Beauty and thought I didn’t need the other one. We Demos truely are crafting sisters who enable each other lol
PS, I am 67 years old and have ADHD too. Of course when I grew up nobody know what it was. Teachers just thought I was just not very well behaved because I couldn’t sit still and be quiet like the other children. My Mom was my biggest hero.

Thank you so much Carole for your beautiful comment. I am glad that you got inspiration from my project, that makes me so happy!
I’d love to see your finished project – you should join the VIP group (it’s linked on the join my community link)
I totally understand with the ADHD, I wasn’t diagnosed until I was 32 because it often got misdiagnosed with females and it really is only just being recognised properly now. It has its pros and cons, haha! Crafting can be both fun and a nightmare with ADHD but I wouldn’t have it any other way. It makes us unique.
