I have been participating in a chain card swap over the last couple of months. Chain card swaps are a lot of fun and based on the idea that you make a card, send it on in the chain and then it is sent around a ‘chain’ of participants who CASE (copy and selectively edit). The person then sends it on until it reaches back to the original person and may look a little (or a lot) different to the original card.
Round three of this blog hop series sharing our chain cards is Monique’s card which I chose to create a Thoughtful Journey card using these beautiful Thoughtful Journey papers from the Annual Catalogue combined with some of the stunning Mix & Match Ephemera pieces.
My finished thoughtful journey card
Here is a look at my finished card. I chose to CASE the basic layout of the card and keep the circular element to the right. You can see the card that I was CASE’ing pictured on the left which I received from Tracy.
I love the circle dies from the Spotlight on Nature dies and included these on my card with some hand stitched detail. This was a nice finished touch for this thoughtful journey card.
a close up look at the finished card design
Here is a close up look at the finished card and some of the detail.
I had fun using some of the Mix & Match Ephemera from Stampin’ Up! which made the card design process so easy as the thought & design work was for me with gorgeous and detailed designs.
I played with some more decoration on the inside to finish the card off.
This was a fun card to make and I really enjoyed seeing the progression of the card throughout the chain.
You can see the whole ‘chain’ of card in the series and how the card has evolved below.
I suggest following it in order from number one onwards to see the true progression of the card.
Until next time, crafty hugs. xx
