It really is beginning to look like Christmas around here! Now that the new Mini Catalogue has been released with all the gorgeous Christmas themed products you will be seeing lots more festive themed projects as we approach the holiday season. I had a load of fun creating the fun floating frame card this week on Facebook Live. Did you know that I do weekly lives on my Facebook and YouTube pages? I always post the free PDF tutorials here afterwards. This fun Reindeer Days card made from that gorgeous suite is just one of many projects I have been working on from this fun suite as I am hosting a fun virtual retreat using this suite with the lovely Maheswari & Rochelle. You can catch all the details here.
If you want the directions of how to make this card, scroll to the bottom of this post where there is a free downloadable PDF.
the finished floating frame card

Here is a look at the finished Floating Frame card. I have made these style cards in the past and when I saw this fun Designer Series Paper full of cute little reindeers I knew that I wanted to create something that would really feature the ideas of lots of flying reindeers!
To create these cards it’s easiest to have some Glad Press N’ Seal on hand. I will admit that this is not the easiest stuff to buy here in Australia (I had a fun little adventure buying it at Countdown in New Zealand when I was there in 2019) You can however head here to find it on Amazon.
You will see in the video that this stuff gets VERY sticky and to help release it without ripping the paper, it’s good to have a Heat Tool that you can quickly hit it on low!
a close up of the floating reindeers

I added the Nested Essentials dies to the mix with this card to create my ‘frame’. Traditionally you wouldn’t pop this back in and in fact use it for another card – however I loved the idea of popping it on double dimensionals and adding it back in.
I embellished the card with some of the coordinating Real Red & White Baker’s Twine and those GORGEOUS peppermint embellishments.
You can see all about the steps of the card and what else I did to make this Floating Frame card on the PDF instructions and video replay below.
a peek at the inside

I had to add a matching inside to my card so I added some light Pool Party & Pretty Peacock blending and another of those beautiful Designer Series Paper reindeers!
I had so much fun creating this floating frame card on my live this week and can’t wait to have even more of a play with this fun suite.
