Hello everyone! Busy is totally my thing at the moment or maybe it just feels that way because it was a slower winter, either way the weeks/weekends have been full of events, classes and ticking things off to do lists for exciting things coming soon!
We had our first monthly class at The Stamping Lounge today using the fabulous Stampin’ Up! Nests of Winter suite and we had a blast. We made three fun folds in class today so I thought, why not carry that through and make another for my weekly live using the brand new Otterly Adorable Suite from Stampin’ Up! that will be available to customers from November 5th next month (hint: you can also join my team and get this now at a discount). I have used it tonight to make this fun double gatefold card.

Here is a look at the finished double gatefold card. I had a lot of fun making this and it is slightly different some other gatefolds that I have made as it is actually two separate pieces to make the ‘base’. It is still a quick and simple fold to make that is a whole lot of fun!

I was really inspired by the fun colours in this Otterly Adorable Suite as blues & greens are totally my thing and added in with the beautiful deep browns, it’s such an earthy/refreshing feel!

Here is a close up look at some of the details. I am not very shy when it comes to adding embellishments and ‘extras’ to a card and this suite does not disappoint with that gorgeous Lost Lagoon Soft Cord Ribbon (it ties BEAUTIFUL bows by the way) and the stunning Riverside Irregular Pearls – these look like gorgeous river pebbles!

The design of this fun fold lends itself to having some kind of basic ‘shape’ acting as the holder for the focal point on the card front. In this case, I have used a circle from the Stylish Shapes Dies as the base to create my little river scene with the otters. The Otterly Amazing bundle comes with so many cute stand alone dies that create everything from riverside foliage, tree logs and rocks. I have used a whole bunch of these elements on my card.

the double gatefold opened

The bottom base this double gatefold card sits on is the size of a standard card base. In total there are just four score lines and this mechanism gets adhered on top to create the double gatefold design. Cute! I let the Designer Series Paper shine by adding it to the panels to create this gorgeous water scene.

Of course the inside needed a bit of pretty too. I added another otter and some of the cute die cuts!
