Above the Clouds ~ Let Your Dreams Soar Watercolour Card

Happy hump day!

Today I have a fun card to share with you using the beautiful Above The Clouds Bundle from Stampin’ Up! I love this bundle as it can be used for masculine and feminine cards and cards for all ages! I was really keen to play with some watercolour and some fun colours on this card.

Here’s a look at the finished card where you can see the basic layout.

I have used some Shimmery White Cardstock for my card front layer and the primary reason for this was because I wanted to add some watercolour and this fabulous cardstock takes liquid so well and has a beautiful shimmery finish!

I have added Coastal Cabana as my watercolour. 

I have then added some Gold Glimmer which I have punched with the Starburst Punch and then added a 2″ circle punched from Basic Black. This acted as a good ‘base’ for my hot air balloon.

I have repeatedly stamped ‘Let your Dreams Soar’ over the background in Night Of Navy Ink.

I have then stamped some balloons on the background in a combination of Coastal Cabana and Pacific Point Inks. I have also stamped some hearts from the Above the Clouds stamp set in Poppy Parade.

Here’s a close up of the finished card where you can see some of the texture and detail.

I have stamped my hot air balloon in Pacific Point and then heat embossed the detailed image over the top with Versamark and heat embossed in Black. 

I have then stamped the basket of the balloon in Poppy Parade and detail in Memento Black. 

I have then embellished with some Glitter Enamel Dots in Coastal Cabana and added a felt star from the Follow Your Art Embellishment Kit. I love the texture and dimension that these add!

Here’s a look at the decorated inside of my finished card where I have added layers of Whisper White and Pacific Point and then added some basic stamping in Coastal Cabana, Pacific Point and Poppy Parade.
