Last night was my weekly Facebook Live and I had fun diving into a brand new upcoming Stampin’ Up! Suite. The beautiful Nests of Winter suite I was able to purchase a little while ago for a demonstrator Stampin’ Up! Event called Creativity Now. If you want to know more about the events and the amazing benefits for a demonstrator you can check it out on my page here. Last night I had a play with the new products we used at the event and made this fun Accordion Gate Fold Card. This one was super fun to make and Megan and Ana last night made some fab suggestions on the live video and at the end I showed how you can make this same card in a standard size and instead of a ribbon/twine tie you can create a belly band! Check out the video to see this tip.
If you want the directions of how to make this card, scroll to the bottom of this post where there is a free downloadable PDF.
the finished accordion gate fold card

Here is a look at the finished accordion gate fold card. I just loved the Designer Series Paper in this suite and the patterns all look so beautiful combined. The feature bird on this card is actually fussy cut from one of the Designer Series Paper patterns. I don’t know about you but I love a good fussy cutting session. Grab yourself a pair of paper snips (p.s. the Stampin’ Up! snips are awesome fussy cutting scissors with a very sharp blade) and have some Netflix and fussy cutting time.
a close up of the details & that beautiful linen thread

This close up of the finished card shows some of the beautiful details from the Nests of Winter suite like those stunning Earth Tones Shimmer Gems. The beautiful colours and stunning shimmer in those gems are just to die for. I used some of the coloured Linen Thread that comes with the suite to tie this card closed & I already know I am going to need multiple packets of this thread as it is just stunning and the texture of Linen Thread makes it so easy to tie bows!
I combined the suite with one of the gorgeous circle die cuts using the Spotlight on Nature dies which are a must have essential in your craft stash! It gave me the perfect ‘base’ to add in my focal point.
how the accordion gate fold design works

Here is a look at the accordion gate fold opened to reveal some more stunning Designer Series Paper designs and that gorgeous centre panel with another fussy cut bird!
I loved the sentiments included in the Winterly Tree Tops stamp and this beautiful phrase, “A friend like you brings me happiness” is just so beautiful.
some more fussy cutting & beautiful patterns

The combination of Copper Clay and Crumb Cake with these beautiful patterns was just stunning with those Earthy Tones. Copper Clay has such a rusty earthy appeal and looks beautiful in so many different combinations. I added a bit of ink blending to my centre panel with a Blending Brush and some Copper Clay Ink and added some more texture by Spritzing a Copper Clay marker.
