This week is the last live video of May – that is hard to believe!
I am proud of myself for making it through a month or pre-organised and recorded videos while I have been away. Next week it’s back on deck with actual live videos and getting organised. Maybe I can take some learnings from having to be so organised this month and carry that on. Haha!
This week I am actually featuring a fun fold card that I made for this month’s Stampin’ Fancy Friday challenge to CASE another fellow Artisan member.
I was really inspired by Yvonne Spikmans Van-Bruggen (The Creative Teacup) with a gorgeous circle easel card using the Latte Love Bundle.
You can see the cards I was inspired by here and here.
yvonne’s beautiful cards that i was inspired by
I have combined both the colourful latte art cups with the idea of a circle easel card from Yvonne’s beautiful card designs to create my own version…
the finished circle easel card
Here is a look at the finished circle easel card. I have loved these Deckled Circle Dies since they first appeared in a Mini Catalogue and I am so happy that Stampin’ Up! have carried them through to be a product that is staying. They are so versatile and useful for so many projects but also so BIG which makes them great for 3D projects, home decor and a fun project like this circle easel card!
I was really inspired by Yvonne’s colour scheme in the first card with the stark white with the bright colours and wanted to carry through that theme which I think also grabbed me as the A Little Latte Suite features Lost Lagoon and browns so it was so fresh and inspiring to see it changed to feature the brights! I was also really inspired by a stamping trick from the lovely Rebecca Hall about flipping over the stamp for the coffee cup (it is not designed as a reversible stamp – but in fact all stamps can be reversible if they are photopolymer!) to create these fill in colours – see the video for how I did this.
Adding a little bit of soft blending with the new Pretty in Pink ink around the edges still kept the colours soft and the white on white a feature but was a nice bit of colour for this card.
a close up of the finished card
I featured just two embellishments on my card with the Peach Pie Bordered Ribbon and the 2024-2026 In Colour Shimmer Gems. The ribbon really became the feature as I cut the width down the middle to make it a ‘skinnier’ ribbon which featured well on this double bow trick.
Here is a really great video from Jay Soriano (Mitosu Crafts) showing how to make a double bow. Click here to see it.
I pulled apart some of the threads on my ribbon to make it look a little bit more distressed and ‘full’.
a look at the inside and the circle easel card fully open
This fun card opens up to reveal plenty of space for adding a greeting or message.
The only important step on the inside is to place an embellishment or greeting on 3D Foam Tape or Dimensionals which acts as the ‘easel stopper’ for the circle easel card to sit upright. You can see more talk about this in the video which is linked on the PDF tutorial below.
This card does turn out to be a little larger than 6×6″ and therefore will require a handmade or larger square envelope. I love using Jacque Williams tutorial for making envelopes which you can find here.
This circle easel card was so much fun to create and I hope that you were able to get some inspiration to make your own circle easel card design. I would love to see what you create, so be sure to come over and join my Stampin’ Up! VIP group (everyone is welcome) and share what you have created.
