The idea of the blog hop is to pick one of Jessica’s projects as inspiration to inspire a project done by CASE’ing (copying and selectively editing) one of her projects.
It was a hard decision as Jessica’s work is beautiful!
Below is the card I creating using one of Jessica’s gorgeous projects as inspiration…
I hadn’t yet used this Orchid Builder Bundle so wanted to give it a go…as I just LOVE orchids. I actually have two of them in my house and they are this exact colour so the Rich Razzleberry Stampin’ Blends were the perfect choice to colour these beauties. I love playing with my Stampin’ Blends and it is so relaxing (the perfect Sunday thing to do!)
Above you can see Jessica’s gorgeous cards that inspired my Orchid cards. I loved how she had a simple watercolour swatch (I think this was a stamp) with a floral piece through the centre and then a sentiment. I love the simplicity, it really makes the floral pop! Gorgeous cards Jess!
Here’s a look at the inside of my card which I double mounted and mirrored the front of my card by adding another Orchid, some sequins and another one of the gorgeous sentiments (how cute is the font?). I love the Iridescent sequins for adding a little ‘bling’ to a card. They are definitely favourites of mine.
Here’s a close up of the finished card.
I mounted my Orchids on Dimensionals to give them a little extra ‘oomph’ I really wanted my Orchid to ‘pop out’ from the card.
As you can see I watercolored my background and did this using an aqua painter and a mixture of Granny Apple Green, Coastal Cabana and Mint Macaron.
The secret to this is making sure you ‘wet’ the paper first with an Aqua Painter and then starting with the lightest colour first add the colours. Wetting the paper first is definitely the secret.
To finish I added a linen thread bow and attached with a glue dot to my card.
It’s a very simple card, but definitely one I want to try and make in more colours.
