I love a good colour challenge and I love that this week’s TGIF challenge features two of the gorgeous new In Colours. I decided to have a go at this week’s challenge using the beautiful Earthen Textures bundle which has been a bundle that I have not had a chance to use near enough and I love it combined with these colours!

the finished card featuring earthen textures
Here is a look at my finished card! The first thing I thought when I looked at my finished card is WOW – bright! I love the impact that the Moody Mauve has on this card. When I used a blending brush to add some Moody Mauve to my card I was able to control the depth that it has added to my card which made it deeper and brighter, whilst lighter and more faded in some other areas – I love this look!
The vase from the Earthen Elegance bundle I actually die cut from Basic White Thick cardstock and coloured with some Moody Mauve Stampin’ Blends – this once again allowed me to control the depth of the Moody Mauve colours, adding lighter and darker shaded where I wanted them. I also used the dies from the Earthen Elegance bundle and used one of the embossing dies to add some texture to my vase. The dies are the star in this bundle in my opinion!! I used them as the centre piece in my vase!

Here is a close up look at some of the detail on my finished card.
To create some of my own ‘Designer Series Paper’ to die cut from with those beautiful dies, I actually used the Stampin’ Blends and some Isopropyl Alcohol on Vellum. I combined the colours; Pecan Pie and Boho Blue for a softer look and then added the finished piece to some Basic White Thick cardstock with some Adhesive Sheet before die cutting out with some of the floral dies. I’ve acted as my own ‘florist’ of sorts and mixed it up with some of the More Dazzle Specialty Paper die cut pieces and used Glue Dots to adhere them all into my vase.
To embellish my card I added some of the beautiful frayed Natural Ribbon (Fave!!) and some of the gorgeous Boho Blue Solid Adhesive Gems. I did also add a die cut fern just from plain vellum that had been coloured with a Boho Blue Stampin’ Blends Marker.

There had to be a pretty inside of course so I added some leftovers from the card front and some stamping using the beautiful coordinating stamps from the Earthen Textures Bundle. I loved these three colours combined together – don’t they just look gorgeous?
