I’m so excited to be sharing this card as part of the Global Design Project Design Team for challenge #GDP543
This week’s theme is all about PATTERNS… and I had so much fun leaning into this one!

Creating a Patterned Background

For my card, I wanted the background to really be the star of the show.
I used the Swirled Designs stamp set to create a soft, repeating pattern across the entire card front. By stamping the same image multiple times, you can build up that layered, almost mixed-media feel without it becoming overwhelming.

It’s such a simple technique, but it gives you a completely custom background every time—and no two cards will ever look exactly the same.

To balance out the pattern, I added a layered floral cluster using the Lovely Arrangements Bundle.
This helps:

• ground the design
• draw your eye to the centre
• and break up the background just enough

The bold sentiment layered over the top ties everything together and gives the card that finished look.
I also took this opportunity to highlight a few of the 2024–2026 In Colours that will be retiring soon.

I always love revisiting these colours before they go—they’re too good not to give one last moment! The combination here feels fresh, bright and perfect for a cheerful “sending smiles” kind of card.
