It’s time for another creative challenge with the Global Design Project, and this week we’re CASE-ing a gorgeous card by Mikaela Titheridge!

If you’re not familiar with CASE, it stands for Copy And Selectively Edit (or Copy And Share Everything!). It’s a wonderful way to find inspiration from another talented crafter and put your own creative spin on their design.

For this challenge, I was inspired by Mikaela’s original layout and decided to create my own floral interpretation using some beautiful new Stampin’ Up! products.

challenge #GDP572

Delightful Daisies & A Little Gold Foil Magic

For my card, I’ve used the brand new Delightful Daisies Bundle from the Stampin’ Up! Hot Foil range, and I couldn’t resist adding plenty of beautiful gold foil!

I absolutely love how the gold foiled outlines bring these gorgeous daisies to life. I’ve added pops of pink and soft lilac to the petals, with bright yellow centres and fresh green leaves to create a really vibrant floral arrangement.

To give the card some extra texture and interest, I’ve used the Timeless Herringbone Embossing Folder on a deep teal cardstock background. The geometric pattern creates such a beautiful contrast against all the soft, delicate florals.

a look at the detail

‘ve layered and arranged my daisies to create a full floral cluster, adding some natural twine, a few coordinating embellishments and a simple Just Because sentiment to finish everything off.

I really love how all the different textures work together. Between the gold foiling, embossed background and layered flowers, there’s plenty of detail to explore without making the design feel too busy.

New to Hot Foiling? Let’s Get Creative!

If you’ve been curious about hot foiling but aren’t quite sure where to start, I have a couple of options to help you get started!
I offer a dedicated Hot Foiling Class in my online tutorial store, where we’ll explore the basics of hot foiling, learn how to get great results and create some fun projects along the way. It’s a great way to build your confidence with this beautiful technique and discover just how much you can do with a hot foil machine.

And if you’re looking for even more creative inspiration, members of The Stamping Lounge can also access my Hot Foiling on Different Media class!

In this class, we explore how to take hot foiling beyond traditional cardstock and experiment with different surfaces and materials to create some really interesting effects.
It’s just one of the many classes, tutorials and creative resources available inside The Stamping Lounge membership.

Join the Global Design Project Challenge!

I always love taking part in the Global Design Project challenges. They’re such a wonderful way to step outside your usual creative comfort zone, discover new ideas and be inspired by other paper crafters from around the world.

You can check out the original inspiration from Mikaela and see what the rest of the design team have created for #GDP572.
Why not join in yourself? I’d love to see your interpretation of this week’s challenge! Create a project inspired by this week’s challenge, take a photo and share it online using the hashtag.
