Go for Greece Blog Hop ~ You are my Missing Piece

Hello and welcome to another Go For Greece Blog Hop. You are visiting Kayla MacAulay’s blog from Tasmania, Australia and I love that you have stopped by!

This blog hop is a collection of demonstrators all who have been working on their businesses this year in the hopes of earning the Stampin’ Up! incentive trip to Greece. How amazing would that be?

Stampin’ Up! really does reward their demonstrators so well and we are lucky to have a demonstrator like Kylie that organises all this fabulous training!

Today I am sharing a card that I made specially for my one year anniversary with my amazing partner Declan yesterday. When I saw the ‘Love you to Pieces’ bundle in the new annual catalogue I just knew that I had to buy it to make something for Declan.

I always tell him that he was my missing piece and so it was just perfect!

I didn’t really know where to start so I actually CASE’d one of the catalogue samples and used different colours (see below)

My favourite colours are Lemon Lime Twist and Coastal Cabana. Can you tell?

My new favourite texture though is the Burlap Ribbon and I have just finished my roll…time to order more!

I am absolutely loving the Big Shot Embossing mats and they make so much more use out of your dies because instead of every die being able to cut, it can now emboss too!

I cut a few puzzle pieces out of Lemon Lime Twist and Coastal Cabana to also accent the card and added some smaller Sahara Sand puzzle pieces in there too.

Here’s a look at the Stampin’ Up! card that I CASE’d. I love going back to the catalogue for inspiration when I don’t have any. That’s what is amazing about the catalogue, it’s a GIANT idea book!

Here’s a close up of the finished card. I added lots of different embellishments including the pearl doilies (folded in half) and some of the gorgeous new Glitter Enamel Dots in Coastal Cabana and Granny Apple Green.

My favourite bit of the card however is the sentiment and how cool is it that the die cuts it into a love heart puzzle? I just love that!

I stamped on the background with one of the floral stamps tone on tone in Crumb Cake as a bit of an accent to the background. I also added a layer of Sparkle Glimmer Paper for a bit of oomph!

I couldn’t be finished without adding a decorated inside so I added a coordinating sentiment which fit perfects and did a bit of Ombre stamping with the Stamparatus on one of the puzzle piece stamps. I finished with some more Glitter Enamel Dots.

Here’s an image of some photos of my partner and I’s first year together that I shared with him yesterday. A lot has happened in a year and I have him to thank. He really did change my life in so many amazing ways, and we are engaged to be married in October next year!

Such an amazing card. Everytime I see this set, I'm more convinced than even that I need it. I love the use of the Embossing Mat with this thinlit. That embossing mat really does increase the uses possible with the thinlits.
