Happy Hour ~ Mixed Drinks

Welcome back to my blog today.

After my big photo taking session the other day where I tackled the huge pile of projects I had sitting to be photographed I realised that I had made several using Embossing Paste, so I thought I would try and post some consecutively.

This one follows on from the theme of the Naturally Eclectic cards that I posted using the coloured embossing paste.

I wanted to however make a masculine card for my Brother in Law and the Mixed Drinks stamp set was perfect.

Then I got thinking to the embossing paste and how it could make some pretty cool beer foam.

I hope you enjoy some pictures and a close up of how I achieved this.

Here’s a look at the whole card.

I have used a colour scheme of Basic Grey, Dapper Denim, Gold and Crushed Curry (for the beer) with a touch of Crumb Cake for the bubbles (which I thought played well into the theme of beer bubbles. I used the Playful Backgrounds stamp for the bubbles.

I love this colour combo of it’s masculine feel but I didn’t mind adding a bit of glitz and glam as I think it’s ok…I’m not one to shy away from adding a bit of glitter. Just call me the glitter fairy! 😉

Here’s a close up of the card and a bit of the texture.

As you can see here from a side view the foam on the beer is textured and ‘fluffy’

I achieved this by dipping the top of my palette ‘spatula’ into the Embossing Paste and pouncing it on top of the foam. While it was wet I sprinkled on some Dazzling Diamonds Glitter but you could quite easily omit this step.

I like to add several textures when creating so I also added some Linen Thread, Glimmer Paper and a Metallic Enamel Star in Gold to finish off the card.
