Honey Bee ~ Friendship Card

Hello and thanks for popping by today.

Today I have a fun card to share with you using one of my favourite bundles from the Mini Catalogue…the Honey Bee Bundle!

It is just so cute!! and even better? Spend $90 by buying the bundle and a couple of other things and you can get the coordinating Golden Honey Designer Series Paper (which has gorgeous foiled designs on it) FREE!

I have used this paper on the card today, and have used that gorgeous black & white stripe and sponged it with some Mango Melody Ink. It’s a really quick and easy way to achieve a fun ombre background.

I have gone with a basic colour combo of Mango Melody, Coastal Cabana, Basic Black and Gold. I love the bold effect of these colours together.

Here’s a look at the finished card where you can see how simple it really is. This is a card that you could definitely make in bulk!

To create this card I followed these steps:

Cut a card base from Mango Melody. I have created a top folding card.
Cut a layer of Basic to 10cm x 14.4cm. Adhere this to your card base with Stampin’ Dimensionals.
Cut a piece of Golden Honey DSP to 9.7cm x 14.1cm and sponge this piece with either a Sponge Brayer or Stampin’ Sponges with Mango Melody working from the bottom up and applying more ink to the bottom to achieve an ombre effect. Adhere this to the Basic Black cardstock with liquid glue.
Cut a strip of Whisper White cardstock to 9.7cm x 1cm and stamp the sentiment ‘Think of You Sweet Friend’ in Memento Black ink to the left hand side. Set aside.
Cut a ‘honeycomb’ piece from Coastal Cabana using the coordinating dies. Also cut a bee die from the Gold Glimmer Paper.
Adhere the honeycomb piece where shown with liquid glue. Adhere the sentiment strip over the top of this piece, and then adhere your die cut bee with Glue dots or Liquid Glue.
Die a bow from the Basic Black Satin Ribbon and adhere this to the card where shown with Glue Dots.
Embellish the card with Glitter Enamel Dots in Coastal Cabana.
Embellish with some Wink of Stella spritzes.
Decorate the inside of the card if you wish (see picture below)

No ‘naked’ cards around here. I have stamped my bees in Mango Melody and added some Wink of Stella to them once stamped for some extra sparkle.
