I had a great time on my Facebook Live last night making a Side Latch Fun Fold card inspired by a card that I received in the mail for an upcoming Chain Card Swap that I am involved in. This is such a quick and easy fun fold and a great way to use Designer Series Paper which is always a plus!
I absolutely love the Mediterranean Blooms suite that is new to the most recent Annual Catalogue, it is so different to anything I have seen. I love the bold yellows, oranges and greens combined with the beautiful Mediterranean blues, it is just a gorgeous combination.

the finished side latch fun fold
Here is a look at the finished Side Latch Fun Fold card. It doesn’t actually look like much of a fun fold when you look at it like this. That’s what I love about these designs – it is a bit of a surprise.
I have combined this card with the Spotlight on Nature Dies which are a great essential to have in your crafting stash as they include a huge variety of circle sizes in three different designs. The circle dies were perfect for creating my side latch feature on my card.

The circle die became the ‘holder’ to adhere my focal point pieces and add some layers of embellishment. This side latch fun fold actually has very little stamping as the beautiful lemons featured on the card are actually fussy cut from one of the adorable patterns in the Mediterranean Blooms Designer Series Paper. Whilst the oranges have matching dies to die cut them, the lemons do not but are easy enough to fussy cut. I was inspired by the lovely Cindy Schuster with a card she had shared with the Mediterranean Blooms suite where she added the touch of pink in the flowers which really made the card pop. This inspiration inspired me to add some flowers that I have coloured with a mixture of Melon Mambo and Bubble Bath Stampin’ Blends. I also die cut out some little flowers from some Berry Burst Glimmer Paper.

This is where the fun bit of the card comes in. A really simple score on the inside of the card and the same measurements cut off the front creates this side latch fun fold design. With the help of the circle die cut adhered to the side panel makes this card have a beautiful interactive appeal.
I also loved adding some more of a coordinating designer paper to the inside which made the card have a bit of a pop of surprise when the card was opened.

Here is a look at the whole card opened to show some of the embellished detail on the inside. I added some blending with some Pumpkin Pie and Lemon Lolly Inks to continue that warm theme and added some more of the fussy cut paper design with a strip of that beautiful Mediterranean pattern on the inside.
This side latch fun fold was a great easy fold that is a great card to make in a hurry & a great way to use beautiful Designer Series Paper designs.
