Hello crafty friends!
I’m so excited to share another project from the October 2025 Online Stamping Retreat — this one was taught by the wonderful Gina Hawley, and oh my goodness… it was so much fun!
This is a Squash Pop-Up Card, which is one of those origami-style interactive cards that folds flat for mailing but pops open in the most magical way when you lift the flap! ✨
I used the North Pole Delivery Suite from Stampin’ Up!, and it couldn’t have been a more perfect fit. I mean — festive mail, adorable pups, parcels, and all the cozy holiday feels? Yes please!

This card design is all about surprise and delight — the squash fold gives you a 3D pop-up element that opens into a full shape when unfolded. It’s like a little Christmas explosion of joy (the good kind, not the glitter-all-over-your-floor kind 😅). To make it even more FUN – the golden retriever featured on the card front is actually adhered on a wobbler — it wobbles as you touch it – FUN!
For the decoration, I reached straight for the North Pole Delivery Specialty 12×12 Designer Series Paper — because not only are the prints gorgeous, but the die-cut elements make decorating so easy.
I layered up some of my favourite pieces: the sweet golden retriever in a winter hat (naturally 🐾), the postmark ephemera, and some gift and envelope motifs for that “special delivery” vibe. I love the soft background pattern paired with the bright Christmas reds and greens — it’s nostalgic but fresh.

Inside, I stamped one of my favourite sentiments:
“Hoping this Christmas is the most magical yet.”
It just ties the whole card together beautifully!

This project is such a great reminder that you can make something wow-worthy without needing loads of extra tools — a few clever folds, a great suite, and a sprinkle of embellishments go a long way!
If you’ve been wanting to try interactive cards but felt intimidated, the Squash Pop-Up is the perfect place to start. It’s surprisingly easy once you get the hang of the folding sequence (and Gina explained it so clearly during the retreat!).
