Stampin’ Up! Forever Greenery ~ Hello Dreamcatcher Card

Hey guys!!

Sorry for the later post today. I meant to get on and write a blog post last night and it just got hectic!

Today I have something really exciting to share with you all!

A card made using BRAND NEW NOT YET RELEASED product!

Yippee!

I just got my pre-order box in the mail yesterday, and I got right into it to make a card that I just knew that I would want to make.

When I saw the Gold Hoops that match the brand new Forever Greenery suite, I just knew I had to make a dreamcatcher.

Here’s a look at the finished card.

As you can see I have woven a dream catcher using the Gold Hoop. It’s by no means perfect and I won’t lie…it was fiddly – but so worth it.

I have then combined that other coordinating ribbon from the suite (which I have trimmed in half length ways for a frayed and thinner look) and looped this through the create the ‘strings’ of the dreamcatcher. I have also added bits of Linen Thread and some of the Gold Metallic Thread that I have used to weave the dreamcatcher.

I have then started with a Just Jade card base. This is my absolute FAVOURITE new colour.

I have stamped my card base with one of the coordinating stamps in Versamark ink to create a tone on tone look.

I then added layers of Gold Foil and Shimmery White Cardstock which I have embossed with one of the coordinating embossing folders.

I then added a 1″ strip of the Forever Greenery DSP to the side and added some strips of Linen Thread to where the two patterns meet.

Here’s a close up look at the finished card.

I used the ‘Hello’ sentiment from the coordinating stamp set which I have heat embossed on Pretty Peacock Cardstock in White.

I have just added this with Mini Black Stampin’ Dimensionals and added a Linen Thread Bow.

Here’s a better close up look of the completed dream catcher.

I have attached the whole dream catcher with Mini Glue Dots in areas where you will not see them.

I then added some Wink of Stella spritzing over the whole card for some sparkle and shine!

Here’s a look at the decorated inside of the card where I have added more layers of Gold Foil and Whisper White. I have also added some stamps from the gorgeous stamp set stamped in Pretty Peacock and Old Olive (for the little splatters).

I then stamped the sentiment in Memento Black.

So the dreamcatcher story?

Well I love dreamcatchers as I mentioned above and when I was planning my wedding (from last year) I wanted to include dreamcatchers somehow…

So they were actually part of our little gift to everybody.

Even better? My gorgeous Aunty Stace hand weaved them all!! She’s amazing!!

There were over 100 of these gorgeous dreamcatchers. Fun Fact: they actually are made using a Stampin’ Up! product, they are the old embroidery hoops that were available a couple of years ago! Yes, I bought enough of them to make over 100 of these! Hehe!

We also had a macrame dreamcatcher behind us at our wedding, which now takes pride of place in my bedroom!
