Hello everyone and welcome to August!
It’s super cold here in Australia where I live in Tasmania – so I am enjoying all the days/nights snuggled up in warm clothes, with a hot coffee at my craft desk – especially right now with all these new products!
This month the Stamping Society team are featuring all our favourite new bundles from the new Mini Catalogue. We have featured a whole variety of brand new products, so there is something for everyone!
So join us this month as we are featuring a load of fun projects!
And scroll down to see more about the tutorial that you can either PURCHASE or earn for FREE, with five tutorials in total from the Stamping Society team.
What is Stamping Society?
It’s a monthly tutorial bundle from different designers all over the world and each month we do a blog hop featuring a beautiful project. You can watch the video from each of us making the project and if you wish you can purchase the tutorial bundle where you will get detailed written instructions, measurements and a supply list.
You can also earn this tutorial FREE simply by shopping with any of the Stamping Society team or by joining Stampin’ Up! as a member of our team.
See the bottom of this post for more information on that.
The lovely designers on the team are:
Ashley Fifer: Canada
Angela Meiritz-Reid: New Zealand
Charlet Mallett: USA
Danielle Bennenk: Netherlands
Let’s have a look at todays’ fun project…
When I first looked at the new Mini Catalogue and saw these gorgeous gnomes – I was in love! I love the gorgeous whimsical nature of this beautiful bundle.
The suite itself features lots of snow and pale tones and I was really inspired to create something BRIGHT! I also wanted to play with some watercoloring, and that’s what inspired this card.
I am not pro at colouring – especially watercolour and I’m no good at staying inside the lines. The biggest tip from me when watercoloring is to use a paper designed to take the water (in this case I have used Shimmery White) and also to heat emboss! When you heat emboss it gives you that water resistant line to help keep your colour where it’s meant to go! It makes water colouring so easy!
Remember also: less is more! You can build colour and go back to add more!
I have used a huge amount of colours on this card – but the colour palette is up to your imagination!
Here is a close up look at the finished card. I was inspired to create a bit of a ‘scene’ and the diorama dies from the Annual Catalogue are perfect for this. Applying the top layer on Stampin’ Dimensionals upon another really creates a 3D scene.
I have added a few layers of blue & green inks with a Blending Brush for a fun bright & happy scene!
Here is a look at the inside of the card, where I have replicated some of the card front and left over die cuts to make the inside pretty too!
I had so much fun creating this project this month. Are you excited to see what the rest of the team have created? Hint: they are all gorgeous!
