It’s been a long time between posts – I’ve been very slack! I hope that you all have had an amazing start to a fresh new year. Let’s hope that this one is full of magical memories.
I am sharing this post a little late as this post was suppose to go live yesterday – whoops! Better late than never they say!
At TGIF it’s a fresh new challenge and I have plans to be a lot more committed to playing along with the challenges this year and what better way to start than with a fun colour challenge.
You can head over and check out this week’s challenge here.
I have to say that Balmy Blue and Early Espresso are not in my top used colours – which is why these challenges are so much fun – they get you out of your comfort zone!
For the challenge this week I decided to have a play with a brand new suite/stamp set called Playing in The Rain. It features these adorable little critters and they are just so much fun to colour.
To have a play I actually created a somewhat simple card without too many layers!
I used a piece of Shimmery White cardstock and stamped my images in Staz On Black Ink before colouring them in a mixture of the three colours. I have added a touch of Smoky Slate around the image to help it pop.
Here is a close up look at the finished card where you can see I have added some stamped raindrops in Smoky Slate and a beautiful sentiment heat embossed in white on Basic Black.
The fun clouds are from the same set and are watercolored in Balmy Blue.
I die cut these fun clouds out using the corresponding dies. It was fun to add some on Stampin’ Dimensionals.
Lastly I added some Wink of Stella and some gorgeous For Everything Fancy Sequins in Blue.
Lastly a look at the inside of the card where I have added some of the beautiful Designer Series Paper from the Playing in The Rain suite and a strip of some Shimmery Gold Paper with some more stamping.
I hope that you found some inspiration from today’s post.
Be sure to go and check out this week’s TGIF challenge here and play along.
