Hello everyone and welcome to a new week and a new challenge over at Global Design Project.
This week it’s a Case The Designer Challenge and we are CASE’ing the lovely Connie Collins
I love these challenges because not only do we get to CASE the work of our team’s lovely designers but these can all be interpreted in so many ways! It is so much fun to see what everyone comes up with..
Check out the challenge here.
Here is the card that we are CASE’ing this week…
I loved Connie’s embossed background and that is really what inspired my card today. We have so many gorgeous embossing folders at Stampin’ Up! This brand new one as part of the Sweet Citrus bundle is to die for!
Here is a look at my finished card.
I coloured an ombre background before embossing with a mixture of; Melon Mambo, Flirty Flamingo, Mango Melody and Daffodil Delight before running that gorgeous Citrus embossing folder through my machine. How fun and bright does that look?
I kept my focal point to the centre of the card like Connie’s original card and used the beautiful two step citrus stamps to create a cluster of citrus fruits. I have actually coloured my citrus fruits in multiple tones by sponging some pinks and oranges onto the stamp before stamping. I love how this turned out.
Here is a close up look at the finished card.
I have added some fun embellishments like those fun sequins and the gorgeous Sweet Sorbet twine.
A bold sentiment heat embossed in white on some black really helped to make that a centre point of my card.
I have added some colour with a blending brush and some left over stamped/die cut pieces to the centre of my card.
This was such a fun card to make and Connie’s card was such an inspiration.
Be sure to go and check out the blog for this week’s challenge and play along.
Crafty hugs xx
