Thanks for popping by my blog today.
I am blessed to be taking part in a beautiful hop today to celebrate the amazing life of such a beautiful person – Queen Elizabeth II.
Such a beautiful and memorable part of the Queen Elizabeth II’s life was her beautiful love of colour and that is what this blog hop is celebrating in memory of her life in honour of her with her recent passing.
We have all decided to choose different colours to focus on in this blog hop to create a huge rainbow of colours in celebration of her life.
I have chosen to focus on the top right hand corner – GREEN. I do love playing with greens, so was most happy to play with my love of green in celebration.
I have used a beautiful collection of four greens from our colour family with a fun emboss resist technique. I love playing with watercolour and this was a heap of fun.
Here is a look at my colour palette…
I used the gorgeous Pretty Medallion stamp set and heat embossed this in white on my background of Shimmery White to create a base to add my watercolour on. I love watercoloring on Shimmery White as it not only adds that bit of shimmer but it also can really handle lots of moisture so it is perfect for techniques like watercoloring.
I decided to keep it simple and have my background as my main focal point so kept my other focal point subdued and white. I added a butterfly from the Brilliant Wings dies. I loved the beautiful detail in these dies. I added a fun sentiment from the Lovely You stamp set. This is a go to sentiment set from me as I just love the mixture of fonts in this set and the beautiful script.
I have added some beautiful frayed ribbon from the Gold Shimmer Ribbon. This makes the most adorable gold thread when you fray this ribbon. It’s one of my favourite techniques to fray ribbon! Some beautiful Brushed Brass butterflies and some green sequins and the card is done!
Here is a look at the decorated inside of my card. I added some more emboss resist using the same Pretty Medallion stamp and some more watercolour. I just adored it so much that I had to add more to the inside. I added another detailed butterfly and another gorgeous sentiment.
I just love how this card turned out and I had so much fun taking part in this beautiful blog hop for a beautiful way to celebrate the life of Queen Elizabeth II.
Please do go and check out all the other people that have taken part by taking a look on my Instagram post by checking out my Instagram here.
Until next time.
