Happy Monday everyone and welcome back to my blog.
Today I am really excited to be sharing with you that I am back to playing along with the Global Design Project Team.
I took a long break last year from a lot of commitments, but I am back and ready to play.
This week we have a fabulous sketch to play along with and I hope that you can pop along and play.
Here’s a look at the sketch. Head over here to check out the post.
Here’s a look at my card for today’s challenge…
I decided to have a play with a bundle that was released with the Annual Catalogue, the Quiet Meadow bundle. With this sketch I saw the Stitched So Sweetly Dies calling out to me to be placed in the middle and when I went to play with the Quiet Meadow bundle – I just really wanted to play with the the new Timeworn Type 3D Embossing Folder that was released with Mini Catalogue.
I wanted to make it shine – so I used the technique where you rub the Versamark Embossing Folder lightly over the top of a ‘dry embossed’ image and then sprinkle some embossing powder over this and heat set – Magic!
I have made this card in two colour variations – mixing between Soft Succulent and Highland Heather. I can’t decide which I like better. I will admit, I am a bit more of a green girl so I think I know which one I would choose.
Here’s a look at the Highland Heather version. The gold embossing really does ‘Pop’ on this card however!
Here’s a close up look at the two cards together where you can see just how fun that heat embossing looks on these cards.
I did add some more heat embossing on the focal rectangles in the middle with the ‘text’ stamps heat embossed over the floral images.
I then used a soft Crumb Cake using a Blending Brush around the edges of this rectangle piece before adding it to the scalloped rectangle as a frame.
To get this ‘mat’ piece – I simple measured the inside frame of the the scalloped rectangle inside the ‘stitched lines’ to work out a rectangle size to cut as an inside mat for my frame.
I then used this to stamp and add my ‘focal’ images onto.
Here’s a little look at the inside of my card which I have kept simple some simple stamping and a sentiment in Memento black. I added a strip of Gold Foil and mounted some Basic White with tone on tone cardstock into my card insert.
I hope you enjoyed today’s card share and I am really excited to be back sharing and participated over on the amazing Global Design Project Team.
I can’t wait to be back sharing another challenge with you all.
Happy Monday everyone!
Crafty hugs! xx
